Yeah. I'll just go fvck myself then. Lol.

Man if dj johnson could catch fire, that would soothe my soul.

My thought exactly. He wants to prove he's a LT, we also want someone to prove they are a LT. I see this as an absolute win. Think he'll cost 10-12 mil per. If he's an average league LT starter that's worth it, imo.

Him and Graham Barton are the two I really like since they have so much versatility. If you draft both then you have all your backups and next years (25) starters covered if you move on from Corbett and Bozeman.
-
for sure. didnt the guy from new york take several years? Andrew Thomas. I'm not sure its time to move him inside. i want to see one more year personally, but have a plan in place if he's truly not cut out for the position. that way we'd get a year at guard (his fourth year) in order to decide if we want to pick up a fifth year.

i never paid much attention but i remember hearing pff podcast talk about Icky getting a lot of TE shade help his first year.

Tim Donnelly on Trent Brown, Evans, Burns & Motown
Panthero replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's got lots of worth, but his price tag doesn't work for where we are as a program, particularly if hes set on 30 mil if he stays here. Need too much help at too many spots, imo. -
One silver lining, our biggest needs match well with the abundant positions in the draft. WR, DT is deep, and OT. Not sure on iOL.

Yeah, some of their comps are wild. Thanks for the discussion. Do you think Bryce is salvageable? I know most are sure he's done. I watched bo nix long enough to see that with the right surroundings, a qb can thrive but I'm not sure if Bryce is able to do that.

i think that is too definitive a statement given what these teams do when it comes to quarterbacks. they certainly wouldnt have reached, but to say Desmond Ridder was where they were going to plant their flag long term is funny, picked in the third for a reason.
-
cool man. good discussion.
-
just relaying what it said, i dont see the comparison either but if the guy was hyped up enough among the professionals i can see the fear of not getting him unless you paid a handsome price tag.
-
i think that is dubious to prove, seattle for instance could have used a qb. same thing for raiders (jimmy g isnt a world beater). how about atlanta? also, cant say others wouldnt have traded up if the guy fell. but that fact can and should be disputed as its too absolute given what the hype around Bryce was at the time.

I wasn't watching super closely but only Levi's was making it to pick 9 from what I could tell. Still think we gave up way too much but I see why they did it. Also reading nfl.com scouting report, the comp for Bryce is Drew Brees. Think a lot of people got faked out. Certainly I did. Watched the guy carve up the SEC, thought he was sure fire. Still not too late, I guess.

I'm not attacking either of you, but besides trading up for a QB there what can you do? Based on the qb's and the draft order the last several years unless we went up we still wouldn't have a qb to build around. Could have taken jordan love but would the team let him sit for years? Justin fields doesn't look like a franchise guy to me either. His stats are very pedestrian. If we don't trade up we likely are in great shape this year, but we've needed a qb since 2020. I think we gave up too much, but I don't see an alternative move.

I like the picks besides the first one. Love WR, but would prefer someone that's an outside threat. Beyond that, if Corley and Jackson are available at those picks I'd run to the podium. Bortolini is good sneaky pick, paired with Beebe, I like the shoring up of depth at OL.

Agreed. The issue is the team needs a good legit rebuild. No more F-ing hotshotting! Should have done it 3-4 years ago. Hopefully ownership accepts the 2-3 year build and we can enjoy the ride. I'm sus, but the coaching hire appears to be a good move. We'll see.

That's true for corner as well.

I've done OL only mock drafts......they made me happy.

Yeah, but does anyone do post June cuts? There are hardly any free agents left by then, right?
-
Oh snap. How have I not noticed that? Yikes.

Thanks. The number I saw was around 28, I misspoke in my initial post. I don't know enough about cap stuff to do what you did, but that's promising. Looks like some moves can be made.

We'll have to extend and/or restructure some of the bigger names. I was checking out overthecap and spotrac. Cutting guys doesn't seem to gain us much. Not sure if this always the case. Anyone on here track that stuff closely? Any thoughts on who should be extended or restructured and who shouldn't? We have 26 mil but Burns will eat up a ton of that if we have to tag him. 21 mil is the number I heard.
