The Athletic: Insight to Brian Burns Contract
ForJimmy replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s not the point though. The average contract for most premium positions (LT, CB, WR, DE etc) will go up every year. The most recently signed players will have contracts that will look bloated until the next round of contracts are due. The growing salary cap causes this. Hill, Adams, and AJ Brown are all top 5 WRs in pay this year because they were the more recently signed contracts amongst the top WRs. Jefferson and Chase will probably make even more when their contracts come due. -

Yeah people forget the average price goes up every year. Lamar, Herbert, and Hurts don’t “deserve” to get paid more than Mahomes, but they happen to be the most recent franchise QBs that signed new contracts. -
Are we really complaining about not picking up the 53rd player yet with Sullivan on IR? Is this really where we are at right now??

I think they finished pretty strong and have a lot of returning starters.

Cards are fully committed

Yeah that was a fun one!

No he definitely has shades of Mahomes in his playing style. Young did too in college. Doing that in the NFL is going to be a different story though.

I love a good shoot out when I don’t care who wins. Just get to sit back and enjoy some good offenses do their thing.

Ok Caleb is great and should be the top pick no questions asked, but better than Mahomes? Mahomes was playing at Texas Tech with Kliff Kingsbury which is waaaaaay different than USC and Lincoln Riley. Mahomes is also a much better NFL QB than he ever was in college. He was a system QB with a live arm in college, but I’ll definitely have to wait and see until I deem anyone better than Mahomes. You gotta respect the top player in the NFL.

7-10 is a popular choice in the NFC. It looks like they are predicting 6 of the 16 teams to finish with that record.

Yeah I’ve seen no one wishing ill will towards Ron. He can stabilize a franchise and get them mid-tier with periodic playoff appearances. That appears to be his ceiling. A lot fans just want/expect more from the HC of their favorite team which is definitely reasonable. Ron is a great DC and as you already mentioned a great person.

Yeah we all have issues. We are on a Panthers’ message board.
-
It says he joined in 2019?

Why aren’t you allowed to create your own topics?

Young>all of them

I could see that. They play the position very similar.
-
You prefer Caleb?

Colorado really needs a defense IMO. TCU was running at will on them. Their offense looked legit though.

Relax I have no dog in this fight. I’m an Auburn fan, but he laid it out there perfectly wide open or not.
