    That's why I am leaning towards signing Schultz or Gesicki this year and drafting at WR like Hyatt/Downs at 39. It wouldn't be an elite group but Schultz, Marhsall, Hyatt, and Shenault could make for a decent group of weapons for a rookie. Grab someone like Tank Bigsby in the 3rd/4th and our offense should have some young pieces to work with.

    I mean he had over 700 yards and 3 TDs in 9 games last year. You could almost double that to get a full season’s worth. You aren’t going to get a flawless premium vet for cheap so he does have a risk with the PEDs.

    I don’t think Reich is ever going to say much negative about any player. It’s just the type of person he is and it actually helps not show our hand.

    I would imagine they eat part of his salary and get the dead cap hit like we did for Moore. We don’t need him to be a speed demon, just a big body with a huge catch radius for our rookie which is exactly what he is. If one of our 4ths gets it done, you think it’s worth it?

    It’s hard to tell what’s real. I imagine we have our guy we like, but will continue to evaluate until the draft.

    I thought Bryce missed a couple games last year? I can’t remember Stroud missing any. Of course my memory isn’t the best…

    It’s exactly how you build a contender. Draft your QB and build a great roster around him while he is on a rookie deal. The hope is by the time he is due him money, he will be capable of elevating a lesser roster. We will be right on track to do so as you already stated.

    I’m wanting Bozeman and one of the top TEs available in FA plus at WR like Hyatt/Downs at 39. I think our OL would be set (starters at least) adding Schultz/Gesicki and our rookie WR will help offset the loss of DJ Moore. Grab a mid round RB and our offense should be capable.

    I think both prospects are great passers. We also have a great staff that is equipped to develop either QB. I lean Stroud because there isn’t much our staff can do to overcome Young’s weakness in his size.

    The fact that both players have such few losses and still had solid games at their worst makes me feel good about the spot we are in.

    I’m just saying that same critique applies to Young. It’s perfectly valid criticism. Both schools are powerhouses with loaded rosters. It was nothing personal.
