  1. That’s great and all but we are talking about NFL careers. I don’t care what they can do in the CFL, USFL, or arena football. NFL players are bigger stronger and faster. PJ Walker was a XFL star to give you an idea of how different the leagues are…
  2. Small QB that played great in college, won the heisman, but couldn’t sustain success in the NFL so he went to play in the CFL. Such a bad comparison.. You could use him as a reason NOT to draft a small QB at 1 honestly.
  3. He was great in the CFL. Let’s hope we don’t draft that at 1.
  4. Putt putt is better than golf.
  5. Kyler just gets banged up every year. I’m not saying Stroud is the answer. I just hope we do better than Kyler Murray (who for the record I think Young will be much better than).
  6. He wasn't going to give it a response no matter who he said. He could have said pick Bennett from UGA and received the some response. That's just how Reich rolls.
  7. I get it, but a majority of the time he was crushing teams from the pocket. I mean last year he only lost to Michigan outside of that UGA game. He wasn't really struggling with his league best QB rating. He isn't going to run unless he needs to. You have a fair point though. There were several games he should have used his legs more but opted not to throughout his career. He said he left it all on the field against UGA. Do you think Reich and Co can get him to consistently leave it all on the field?
  8. He has shown he is capable of being that guy against an elite defense. We have a more than capable staff that will be working with him. I hope they will be able to get the best out of any player we draft and that appeared to be his best. Of course with that line of thinking AR would be an extreme case of getting the best out of a player.
  9. That's all fair and I think that is what our HC is saying. Does everything else he does so well overcompensate for his lack of ideal size? That's up to our staff to decide. My opinion is Stroud isn't far behind him in processing and accuracy (might be more accurate) without the size concerns so I would prefer him, but that's just me. Young is a great prospect too, but his size shouldn't be overlooked.
  10. Our HC seems to think his size leads to some durability concerns. It's just something that shouldn't be ignored. Is it the reason we should pass on Young at 1? Not necessarily, but it has to weigh in on the decision.
  11. I could see that. I don't think Luke had any issues in college. The NFL is just bigger and faster.
  12. Damn concussions... I think they ended Luke early too. My main point was there IS a concern with durability and size as Reich stated Young's durability is a concern. Yeah it's easy to find players of normal size that have injury histories because there are so many of them.
  13. Sounds fair to me. I just keep hearing these "he didn't get hurt in college so he won't get hurt in the NFL" posters. That's not quite how it works...
  14. If you agree his size is considering then we are in the same page.
  15. Fair and valid points. Young is probably better at pre snap defensive reads. This is definitely something our staff can coach and develop though. A lot of young QBs struggle with that. Young is very mature in that aspect of his game.
  16. So Reich has said Young’s height and durability ARE a concern. Maybe posters on here can stop pretending like it’s not.. The question is do his intangibles outweigh his physical limitations. They are off the charts so they might.
  17. Didn't Sanders retire early? Maybe not the best comparison...
  18. Same. To me Stroud isn't much behind Young in processing and has just as good accuracy. Those 2 are definitely a tier above the rest but one would just be taking a bit of a risk being a size outlier at the next level. Now if our staff choses Young I will be all in and excited as well. Both are great prospects IMO.
  19. Another issue is he doesn't really play Brady ball. Brady is a pocket passer who gets the ball out quick. You don't see him running around extending plays very often. It's a double edged sword because it is also what makes Young special, but it could lead to extra hits on his leaner frame. Do you taper that style down at the next level or just let Young be Young and risk injuries? It's a tough call...
  20. If Young is good plus his size the NFL will absolutely penalize anyone that touches him (of course if it is a playoff game the other team may think the penalty is worth it). My biggest concern with Young is how his HEIGHT will limit our offense to a degree. At pick 1 I am not sure you accept that when there is another option almost as good who won't have those limitations.
  21. I blame Cam's short career on our staff. Never getting him a LT and running him too much. I don't think a player Young's size even makes it through that Super Bowl game with Denver sending head missiles at the QB....
