Jalen Carter may be dropping after this

Tyreek Hill had had some legal issues if I remember correctly as well. Isn't that why he dropped in the draft? -

He isn't falling to UDFA because of 2 misdemeanors... He just met with the police and paid his bail. He will pay his fine and move on. -
Win now mode would look more like throwing away draft picks to acquire premier players and signing big FAs to big money. I don't see any of that happening. I think his "win now" was more of we are able to compete now. They seem more concerned about building a solid foundation and being consistently good (which I like). That looks more like a rookie QB to me...

I thought the scouts were like his mechanics and release? He is a tough one to grade because he was constantly running for his life at Stanford.... -

What am I missing on Clayton Tune? He seems to be getting overlooked while lighting it up a Houston. He looks to have decent size as well as a ton of experience.... -
Butting heads with your franchise QB who happens to be the locker room leader will definitely have some backlash. If they move on from Lamar, they better hope he doesn't light it up somewhere else and they better get his replacement right.

I just don't think we are quite in "win now" mode to try to make a hefty contract like Rodgers work. We still have a pretty young roster and seem like a good team to draft a QB and left him develop with the roster. I could maybe see us signing Carr because you still get probably 5 more years of solid QB play, but rookie just make a lot of sense with our staff and our roster. Let Reich, Caldwell, Brown, Staley, and Fitt find their guy this year and get him.

I think too many people pull AR's stats, see he played for Florida (who has been solid in the past) and think he is a terrible passer. The truth is Florida was a shell of itself especially as the season progressed and the already weak roster battled through some injuries. When I actually watched AR play it wasn't hard to see he was holding that offense together and had some solid progressions and ball placement when asked to drop back as a passer. I really don't think he is as raw of a passer as they are making him out to be. He needs to work on his footwork in the pocket to prevent some balls from sailing over his targets, but that should be very coachable. It makes you wonder how he would have looked on Alabama or OSU's roster...

I feel like Carr might be pissed if we commit to him and then trade up for a QB. If we sign Carr we build around him and his 5 year window. WR/TE will probably be our first pick if we sign Carr.

The Panthers will 100% trade up and draft a QB

He already said we were hiring a USFL HC as our OC and signing his QB (Glass) as our future QB. He also declared Icky a bust. Plenty of reasons to ignore that guys random data that is skewed through several different eras of football with several variables to include. It has to be a first year HC that also traded up in the draft to acquire his QB in the first round of the draft. -
Need a confident man to lead as a QB. 11.25 should do it!

It looks like only two players (Prescott and Mills) threw more INTs than Carr last year. His QBR and Rating were both only 1 point higher than Fields who is far from a complete product as a passer and that's with Carr have the best WR in the league. Only 5 players threw more INTs than Carr in 2021. There is an argument to be made he has a TO issue. I have nothing against Carr, but those 14 INTs a year were higher than I was expecting from him at this point in his career.

Like Trevor Lawrence did the previous year? Look what happened when they actually infused some talent/coaching around him…

Not what I want, but I wouldn’t complain…. -
OP forgot to include we need to sign Cam for a year or two to mentor AR.

Someone will fall in love with Levis. I hope it’s Houston. -
Hey do you guys think we should trade for Fields??

I could see that or if Stroud falls to 3. -

And those picks weren’t for sale nor will they be when that happens again. Basically we have to be the worst team in the league to get one of those guys and that’s not happening with our new staff.

He thinks Young is the next Patrick Mahomes. If other GMs actually thought this the Bears phones would be blowing up. It’s easy to hype your guy up and say sensational things like “the next Mahomes” when your career isn’t on the line. The Bears aren’t risking it and rightfully so. Get more picks and address one of their other 1000 needs.
