If he is here then of course I hope he turns it around, I just don’t see any signs of it. The OC, QB, and OL are all issues he caused. We will be in year 3 of a rebuild with a terrible line, no sign of a decent QB, and looking for a OC to come help a coach on the hot seat. Chinn is out of position, Brown regressed, we haven’t got a real look at Brown (OL), and a limited look at BC, TMJ can’t get on the field, and that’s just a few things. Give me some hope please?

I mean you have to eventually draft one, but the most important thing outside of the QB would be the OL. Build up the OL while you try to develop your next QB then you sprinkle in weapons and defense IMO.

I’ll never under moving such a promising young rookie to a new position. It’s not like we had a great talent at LB we were trying to get on the field with him…

About Robinson? I don’t believe so. *I found it. I said he was more of a FS than SS because someone was comparing him to Franklin who is a SS and later said him getting cut with little competition didn’t look good. I you want to call that being a “hater” then sure.

Willis would be interesting if we had a good staff around him and a vet QB to play until he is ready (similar to the Niners with Lance). Unfortunately we have neither. I think Pickett has the highest floor, but Howell and Strong have higher ceilings.

Points surrendered per drive should be the best indicator. That put us at 12th which seems about right. They aren’t a dominate top 5 but leaning towards better than average. We spent an entire draft, plus the following 1st, plus Reddick, Gilmore, Bouye, Jones etc so it should be decent… we just completely ignored the offense and it shows.

Yeah Strong has been solid for a minute now. His knee and mobility combined with lower competition would be the concerns I would have. If we could manage to somehow get a 2nd rounder and get him there with OL in the 1st I’ll be happy.

The bad news is he will be coaching for his job, so he won’t play the younger guys who need developing. Players like Brown and Chinn will keep regressing and he will jack up our salary cap more and waste our top 10 pick on his guy this year.

If BC is actually legit we can sign a G like Schreff in FA and grab another in the 4th/5th to compete with Brown. Then the question is do we draft a QB in the top 10 or not? If and it’s a huge IF we land the right one, this would make for a quicker turnaround. Maybe 2 years? It’s a lot of “ifs” and if Rhule is still here, he will ruin all of it…

Yeah rolling with Sam again is just throwing away a season. Drafting one next year will still probably need a year to develop (so 3 years away from making any noise). I’m ok with a Mariotta (been mentioned a few times) coming in to compete with Sam and Cam as our jumbo package/3rd string providing we draft and sign OL like there is no tomorrow.

Taylor has shown some promise as well at times. We should still have Bouye next year as a vet/nickel. I just wish we would let Chinn go back to LB and sign another safety.

Burns definitely has the most trade value, but he is a young pro bowl pass rusher. I value that more than a 2nd and 3rd, unless we can get a good bit more for him. I personally don’t want DJax extended for the amount of money he will cost. He seems very streaky. Love the trading down and still grabbing the Iowa center part if that is possible. Pair him with Moton and BC on the bookends and we have a nice young core on the OL. How do you think we should address the QB position?

Yep the whole “rebuilding” thing is nothing but an excuse to fall back on from his coaching failures.

I can’t speak for everyone but it’s odd to be rebuilding, but have our picks traded away for vet players. Also… -The Teddy contract/quick trade dead money -The Darnold bidding war with ourselves followed by unnecessary extension. -drafting a CB in the top 10 with QB and OL still up in the air. -constantly starting terrible vets over promising rookies on the OL -the Robby extension -jumping on Erving and Elf day 1 in FA -seeing no development in 2nd year/rookie players -hiring a staff with little NFL experience -having no backup plan for Darnold and then continuing to start him every chance you get -drafting all defense one year, following by a first round CB and being surprised your offense sucks -blaming Cam for losses in a lost season Aside from these plus a few more issues, everything else has been to my expectations.

It’s a tough career that you are pursuing.

If we keep Rhule (it sounds like we will) I really hope he gets some qualified assistants and listens to them… Roster control needs to be out of his hands as well. I just don’t understand the 3rd year guarantee nonsense….

We need a new coach to use CMC correctly and not overuse him. Give him more time in the slot with Hubbard in the backfield and try to extend his shelf life since he is basically untradeable. The player with the most trade value is probably Burns, but I would trade him unless we extend Reddick (which I’m leaning towards rolling with YGM and Burns while using our cap space on OL) Trading down makes the most sense if we get a good offer and stay in the top half of the draft.

No one offered enough that we were know of. That’s really not his point though. He is saying if someone was willing we could have dropped several spots and still got a player similar to Sewell plus a return. It’s all hypothetical because our dumb staff wasn’t interested in Slater and really wanted Horn…
