Just questioning the “total defense” metric. Using strictly total yards is flawed by short field positioning. Using points allowed us flawed by special teams and defensive TDs. I want our defense to be great, but they seem so streaky right now. Looked great against Arizona and terrible against WFT and Miami. We definitely have talent on that side of the ball.

What if a team has a lot of turnovers from Darnold and Cam (last game) throwing picks. That leaves short fields to score. Also they are clearly just running down our throats and milking the clock while scoring. Time of possession and points allowed should be included in overall defensive rankings. There are too many variables to go strictly by yards. Denver is 9th in yards allowed but 3rd in points. Points decide the game along with time of possession.

QBs always have and always will be over drafted. If a guy you like is there you take him. We should have taken Fields last year or Slater like most of this board wanted, but we wanted a CB with a top 10 pick…

IF we go QB, I’ll be ok with Howell or Pickett. The others I’m having to convince myself into liking which isn’t a good sign for a QB prospect. OL with a filler QB might be the way to go until next year… then give me KJ out of Arkansas!

Why in the Hell was he not playing over Daley? Daley is always terrible every time he plays. At least MJ, Scott, and Elf have had a few games they were serviceable… After the bye week it better be BC, Erving, Elf, Brown, and Moton.

I’m for letting him finish this year. We kind of owe it to him. If he bounces back, next year is on the table. I mean he looked great one week ago, so let’s see how he does after the bye.

The Dolphins OL is actually worse than ours. I’ll take losing to good teams while we are “rebuilding” (which is total bull poo, we are trying to win now), but getting blown out by bottom tier teams and lack of discipline by our players all falls back to our coaches. Our team has way too much talent to get crushed like that by Miami.

Yeah he has done well as a OC with Dak, a top OL, Elliott, Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, and Pollard. If we are going with a OC that can coach a loaded offense, at least Leftwich got a ring with his. If Tomlin gets let go, it’s a no brained to me..

Nah that has only happened against stronger lines like the Cowboys and WFT. I think we will do much better against Miami. Plus Snow has probably chewed them up and spit them out this week.
