  1. Yeah Willis is the opposite of Teddy. Raw potential with a high ceiling vs a game manger with a low floor. Teddy is more like Mac Jones. I think of Willis as a smaller Trey Lance.
  2. The middle of our line was unacceptable. They would just backpedal into our QB. I don’t think Burrow, Brady or anyone can handle that constantly…
  3. Willis is in the mold of Bridgewater?? I hope you are talking about where he will be drafted not how he plays. He might be the opposite of Teddy. Strong arm/elusiveness, but is still very raw…
  4. The get excited about potential and college tape because it’s the most exciting position in sports. Talk about QBs and you’ll get views/clicks. It’s why this topic is getting traction. Again 3 “can’t miss” QB prospects in one class hasn’t happened. I get you don’t want us drafting one, I don’t want Rhule selecting one either.
  5. So if our line is subpar we can make it to the Super Bowl with a great QB (who lost to the GOAT)? Rodgers locked up the 1 seed with 3 backup OL playing. LAC had possibly the worst OL when they took Herbert as did the Bengals with Burrow and the Cardinals with Murray. A QB will always triumph the OL and rightfully so. I just don’t want Rhule picking/developing that QB. I’d rather keep it safe/boring and draft OL so it’s the least likely Rhule fugs it up. Let our new coach draft his QB next year. I do think this class isn’t as bad as everyone thinks. Strong, Pickett, Willis, Howell, Corral all have good traits and that WKU guy put up some crazy stats. Next year it’s Young and Stroud. Young is small with loads of talent around him and people are going to question Stroud because he played at OSU (I think it’s dumb, but it happens). Outside if those 2 who knows?
  6. Put this same Cam on the Pats and see how they do…. Oh wait.
  7. Can’t miss QB prospects??? Andrew Luck was the last one I remember. I’ve yet to see a class with 3 can’t miss QB prospects. Sure you can pull a hindsight and name classes with 3 that turned out to be great, but most of them have risks…
  8. Burrow had better stats/wins, but a much more talented roster. Then there is hand size, but that is overblown. The same people that complain about Rhule talking about arm length for a LT will talk about hand size for a QB.
  9. Plan B could be play the rookie at LG and BC at LT. If BC is solid and the rookie is the real deal we could trade BC like the Ravens did with Brown and slide our rookie over to LT the next year,
  10. If we had a new coach and they liked a QB in this draft, I’d be all for taking one at 6 or back a few spots. Since our coach is a lame duck coach who can’t develop talent, I’m leaning towards just staying put and drafting a NFL ready OL. Let shitty Sam start at QB and our next coach can draft Young/Stroud next year and have a good young OL core to protect him. Hopefully Rhule is handcuffed this year and can’t use next year’s cap or assets this year to give our new guy a lot of space to work with.
  11. We aren’t winning anything next year. We don’t need an “immediate starter” but honestly half of them would be playing better than Sam by the end if they year.
  12. You can’t add strength at 26? He has never had to worry about increasing it to this level being a LT at BYU. I think he is still capable of adding strength after his rookie season with a NFL professional trainer.
  13. If we walk away with a top tackle and a second round pick, I’ll be so giddy I’ll almost forget who our coach is.
  14. Two year Mariotta and he can mentor Bryce Young the following year.
  15. I’m leaning towards him taking a OL at 6. It’s the least likely thing for him to ruin. Just do that and sign a Mitch or Mariotta to compete with Darnold. I hope Tepper has told him he can’t trade away future picks…
  16. It’s just a scenario, I doubt it happens. If there is still a lot of talent at the position we are looking to draft we could try to trade down. I agree with what you are saying though. If we think (for example) Corral is a future star, we should just take him at 6 and not get cute. All I know is Rhule is more than likely going to mess it up…
  17. It depends on how much of a drop off we see between them. If prospect 1 is close to the 5/6th option then we could trade down several spots if another team in high on one prospect.
  18. True story. There are plenty that are heads and shoulder above our joke of a coach…
  19. PS Tom Brady loves punting on 3rd down.
  20. One play. Traded for Sam Darnold and immediately extended him to a 5th year, extended Robbie, signed Erving and Elf on day one of FA, refused to try BC at his natural position, cut Cam signed Teddy traded Teddy traded for Sam extended Sam and then signed Cam again all in 2 years. I wish the worst thing Rhule did was punt on 3rd down. Hell it would have probably been a good move because the offense can’t turn the ball over.
  21. Culley isn’t worse than Rhule. He inherited a mess, his starting QB wouldn’t play while his replacement Taylor (immediately got hurt). He started a 3rd round rookie at QB while trying to manage the whole Watson situation and only finished with one less win than Rhule. He was 2-2 his last 4 games beating the Chargers and losing to the 1 seed AFC Titans by 3 points. Rhule was ending on one of the league’s longest losing streaking and going dominated by the Bucs his last game. Our team wasn’t even competitive at the end of the year. Culley > Rhule by a solid margin IMO. You could see the Texans improving and the Panthers falling apart…
  22. The big debate I remember was Fields vs Slater. Two critical positions with us picking in the top 10. I wanted Fields, and still think it was a better choice than Horn. Slater would have obviously been better as well…
  23. Willis has all the tools, just needs developing. Our staff can’t develop poo so I hope we don’t draft him and ruin him. If we go QB, we need a strong OC and a QB that pretty “pro ready” IMO. Zappe is interesting, wish we had our 2nd rounder which is almost a late first….
  24. Burns is younger and cheaper. Unless we get a nice offer for him (1st plus) then we should roll with him.
