  1. Preseason is a lot different. Dumbed down offenses and defenses, plus I don’t think he was playing against starters. If it was Ron I’d be more upset, but I trust Rhule and Co right now.
  2. I get wanting Brown to play, but the staff thinks he isn’t ready. I was pumped when Christensen came in last game, but quickly realized what the staff already knew. He isn’t ready yet either.
  3. I smell a Chuba TD. In fact two rookies are scoring this game between Marshall, Tremble, and Hubbard.
  4. Wait, does this mean I have to put my pants back on?
  5. The pass blocking looks better because of the quick passes. Joe Brady vs Norv’s run run pass offense. I agree with that being scheme. Losing Trai Turner has to hurt the running game some. It only takes 1 to 2 changes on the line to change the whole dynamics. In our staff’s defense I don’t think they think this offensive line is anywhere near complete. Their strategy was fix the defense with young athletic players first that should keep us in games. We were competitive in most of our games in year 1. Next is finding the QB (Teddy didn’t work, but Darnold is showing promise) while drafting young weapons to grow with the offense. If Darnold is the guy I think locking up a solid offensive line would be the final step in year 3 (usually Rhule’s final stage of his rebuild). If they hit on Christensen or Brown then that’s just a nice bonus!
  6. I think Chuba is going to look much better now that he has a good feel for the game and has practiced with the 1s all week. He should fix some of those drops and become a solid contributor on offense. I hope he does solid and the staff can lean on him more when CMC gets back to limit his touches.
  7. I know Elf and Erving haven’t looked great most of their career and Miller has been average at best. So if they were bad on other teams and bad on ours I would say they weren’t evaluated properly, which can fall on the staff. Rhule/Brady have taken players like Robby, Curtis Samuel and arguably Shaq, possibly DJax and they have shown much improvement with their coaching. It looks like they are doing the same with Darnold. OL might be a different story. They missed with Teddy (although some would argue he was sighed to be a stop gap player until we found our guy, but Tepper grew impatient) and Whitehead. I’m curious to see how they do with CJ Henderson. I think we will have a lot of answers once Brown and Christensen start playing. If they can develop their drafted OL into solid players then I would say it’s not coaching/scheme as much as it is thinking they can make players who are average and below average better every time. If their drafted OL also fail to produce it falls on the coaching/development/evaluation of OL.
  8. I’m just going to miss saying Darnold to Arnold.
  9. We could have drafted a Russ Wilson with that 3rd rounder!!
  10. If he isn’t Revis in his first game, we blew it!
  11. Of course there is risk. You don’t get a top 10 pick from the previous draft for cheap without some sort of injury, personality, or performance risk. Let’s let our staff do their job and see if they can get him playing like he did at Florida.
  12. The real question is why didn’t these teams trading with us try harder to acquire these players in the offseason? I’m going to let this staff do their thing. So far I’ve been pretty impressed with them.
  13. Oline is right behind QB in value. Teams don’t part with young talented ones. If they do, it takes top assets to get them. A first round pick might get you a disgruntled talented RT like the Chiefs did with the Ravens, but that’s a little risky too.
  14. People that are questioning this move have just been conditioned from terrible GM moves by Hurney for so long. This staff seems legit and if they make a mistake (Teddy) they move on/correct it very quickly. I’m learning to trust them and let them work their magic! In Fitts we trust!
  15. Agreed. If he buys into this team’s culture it will be insane how good our secondary can be. I think Horn, Chinn, and DJax will have him fired up and ready to play. Plus he has to know it’s now or never. If you have issues with one organization it’s one thing, but two and it’s the only two you played for then teams start thinking you are the problem…
  16. If he really wanted out and clashes with the new staff then I get it. It really feels like we fleeced them though…
  17. A top 10 pick with only 1 year of experience. It just blows my mind how quickly they gave up on him. He really hasn’t been that bad when he played. They could have signed Arnold this past offseason if he is what attracted them. If they can’t develop players our 3rd round pick will be useless to them…
  18. I’m confused as to why the Jags wanted to move on from him so soon?
  19. I think Brown and Christensen will be upgrading our line sooner or later
