  1. Yeah, he looked good when he had better talent around him. Without it he was meh...
  2. That staff with that talent could be lethal....
  3. Not saying you are wrong, but how do you know how the contract is written? If these players don’t see much playing time, but are on the team as depth do they still get their full amount? A lot of these contracts need players to start and play in x amount of games to hit the full potential. If they are then they are more than likely earning their money. If Elfein stays on the team for 3 years as a veteran depth option but doesn’t play much is he making closer to his 6 guarantee or 13.5 total? Then throw in the most certain cap increase the next few years and I really don’t think it’s going to hurt us that bad. One of these two might be out next center who knows?
  4. You need to look at the guaranteed money. If they are getting the full extent of their contract (which isn’t anything crazy) then they are playing better than expected which makes them worth it. One was was 3 years with $6 million guaranteed?? That’s below average starter money. Cam Erving played mostly LT, so compare his salary to starts LTs and it should be fairly cheap. These are low risk (financially) young players who could have some potential, which is right up Rhule’s alley. The bonus is they can both play multiple positions which helps with depth and injuries. We were never going to sign the top tier players because we have too many holes. Rhule likes young players with potential which is what they are. If they had no injuries and played great they would be out of our price range.
  5. All valid points. It also depends on you is blocking beside them and the schemes they are in. It’s not like we are even throwing starter money at them.
  6. I really want to keep our 2nd pick. I think we can get a starting LT with it. If we move up or trade for Watson it might be as good as gone...
  7. Fitt is filling our roster with serviceable players so we can trade our entire draft for Watson.
  8. Spot on. Keeps us from reaching on draft picks to fill holes. Also gives up capable players in case we have no picks from Watson.
  9. I don’t see how 3 years with $6 million guaranteed could be THAT bad??
  10. Miami? I doubt the Falcons will trade with us. Cincinnati is an option is a QB is still available since they don’t need one.
  11. I don’t think Mac Jones will be that bad. He just doesn’t have the potential to carry an offense like Lance, Fields, and Wilson do. They have the ability to better stretch the field with stronger arms and to take over with their legs when a play breaks down. Give Mac a pocket and some weapons and he should be solid. The other guys just have potential to be something special IMO.
  12. Starbucks and Amazon. Miss those Super Sonics....
  13. Exactly. 40 times don’t always reflect game speed. Just watch him play and yes he wore the GPS for several games which gave us all the data we needed of actual game speed. 21.58 mph for his size is crazy and his 40 time wasn’t going to top that.
  14. I honestly think if we miss out on Watson, we trade up to three and draft either Fields or Lance. We seem all in on getting a QB this year. Defense revamp was year 1 with Brown, Chinn, YGM, Pride etc and year 2 is getting our QB. The following years will be filling in holes to make a run.
  15. That’s fair, but if Jones had Lance’s arm and athletic ability he would be the top pick. They are both risky due to only starting a season’s worth of games and having superior talent on their teams. To me the potential of Lance is crazy, but the floor for Jones is much higher. Mac’s worst case is Teddy, best is Brees (super low chance of this). Tre Lance’s worst case is out of the league in a few years, best case is maybe off the charts? Maybe what Josh Allen is becoming or peak Cam with better passing? (again low chance of this). Lance’s advantage is his ability let’s you open your playbook and win with less than Jones can (potentially).
  16. I’m saying most of Mac’s competition was significantly below his team and he started the same amount of games. So yeah the guys he is going against are better, but his teammates are significantly better than them.
  17. I mean Alabama was way better that other teams this year. They are loaded with NFL talent. Mac Jones had a NFL line, RB, and WRs mostly 1st rounders going against a lot of players that won’t get drafted. The gap from Alabama to the average team they played could be greater than NDSU and their competition. Also Lance started the same number of games as Jones. So experience should be similar...
  18. Started just as many games as Mac Jones. I would argue the gap between his competition was less than what Jones was facing too...
