  1. At least Wilks knew to play to his players strengths. Power running OL trying to play some complicated zone isn't working. Wait until you have the roster closer to complete before you try to fully implement your offense. Wilks did a great job at getting our running game going and making Sam look serviceable most games. Keep in mind Wilks was working with the remains of Rhule's staff and roster during the middle of a season.
  2. Improve from what? 0-6? If we aren’t able to pay him what he wants then let’s get some picks for him vs letting him walk. Some picks that we definitely need.
  3. Depends on who we are getting and what we are giving up. I wish we did what the Falcons did for Jefferson. It was like a 6th/7th swap. I even kind of like some of the Sutton trade suggestions. It was like a 5th and future 6th. Basically late picks for an average WR or higher picks if it’s truly a great young WR which typically aren’t available.
  4. The whole point was the get those 4 more deep shots do you want your rookie QB taking all those extra hits all season. I mean we still lost that Seattle game. Blaming the QB is easy and yes they shoulder most of the responsibility. Other questions are why did our offense go away from the up tempo no huddle quick strikes that led us to two touchdowns? Why are never running slants? Why aren’t we running any PA bootlegs to offset the terrible OG play? How did we expect our young offense to win this game when our defense allowed 42 points? It’s just a complete poo show and it makes it difficult to see where the problems really are. It’s probably a combination of everything.
  5. Yeah but it just validates @MasterAwesome’s point of taking stats at face value being foolish. I didn’t realize Dalton got hit 10 times in that Seattle game. Definitely playing with house money knowing Dalton is our backup and playing hopefully not many games this season. We also didn’t have to worry about Dalton’s development being impacted by those constant hits. It’s a good interesting debate between him and @45catfan. Real football/analytics talk.
  6. Oh yeah it’s the better deal without a doubt.
  7. If players think the contract is low typically they sign somewhere else out of spite. I don’t think we will know what was offered but it couldn’t have been much less.
  8. We tried to sign him first. He went somewhere else instead. However the Sanders signing looks like a separate bad move.
  9. That loss may have caused some panic for the Lions. I could see them trading for some help. I would love this 1st, next year's 2nd (we are missing ours), and Jameson.
  10. I wanted Downs at 39 badly. Stroud at 1, Downs at 39. Downs actually fits Young's game better as you already said.
  11. He won’t sling it down field a lot, we just want a couple times to keep the defense honest.
  12. So if the Broncos and Cards win every team has at least 2 wins but us?
  13. It’s an affective way to throw money at the problem. Maybe a crew featuring Colbert will help pick a new GM? Someone on here mentioned a rumor of Tepper meeting with Polian for advice.
  14. He will hire some advisor like Colbert to give advice on how to get out of this mess IMO. That’s the best chance we have at him letting the football guys make football decisions.
  15. No but you can’t stay put at average you have to attempt to get better. If it doesn’t work keep trying again with someone else. Moving on from Rivera was the right move. Rhule and possibly Reich were the wrong moves.
  16. Howell can’t catch a break between UNC’s OL his last year and this group his has now.
  17. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/grading-carolina-panthers-qb-bryce-young-through-his-first-five-nfl-starts Looks like they all gave him a B- which I think is fair giving the circumstances.
  18. Could be worse. Auburn is unwatchable. They have like 30 passing yards and the game is pretty much over.
  19. Young still gets 2024 IMO. 2025 would be the earliest but a lot of things would need to happen. Young struggling, new GM and HC, and we have a top pick with a top QB sitting there to draft.
