Yeah Young/Stroud were the safer picks. With decent coaching that both have solid floors as a capable starting QB. AR was the gamble with the highest ceiling but could just as easily bust. I would have been happy with Young/Stroud and very curious with AR.

Burrow looks like he was the exception, but he had the greatest season of any college QB. I don’t have anything against him, but he has a pattern and sometimes it’s right, but recently it hasn’t been.

Well we also have his top QB from the previous class in Corral. He also ranked Wilson over Lawrence and Fields his prior year. Not exactly a great track record…

The preseason is a different animal with the 3 game schedule. Different teams playing different groups at different weeks. I've seen more starters vs third stringers with the 3 week schedule. Every team is doing their own thing vs the traditional 4 week schedule where the starters played week 3 and 4 was for depth.

I think R. Williams and Ray are showing they deserve spots on the DL (which is probably why McCall got cut). I know it's preseason but CJ Henderson has been playing well, maybe Evero can help him be more consistent. Shi Smith had a solid game last Friday and Blackshear has flashed showing he deserves the be in the RB room. That's just what I have observed watching the games.

Yeah he was never going to be the real starter. They just wanted to get a good look at him. Again this is what our staff is doing this preseason for the most part.

BC has been a pleasant surprise plus Corbett should be back soon. Bozeman is more than capable at C, but I wouldn’t be against trying to get Bryce a long term solution there next year to develop with him. -

I don’t think it was that bad. I remember stats of how Darnold was holding the ball towards the top of the league in terms of time. Icky went a long time without giving up a sack and that’s who people seemed to be concerned with.
