I assumed he meant the whole offense not just Young. Corral didn't really throw it deep very often.

A Reminder That It's Not 2022. It's A Whole New Season and League.

I could see a 8-9 maybe 9-8 season. As long as we are trending in the right direction with Young developing I will be happy. -

Higgins is arguably a WR1 as well. It's extremely hard to get that kind of talent in the WR room. The Bengals hit with Burrow, hit with Higgins, hit with Chase and then built their OL to solidify that offense. The Bengals have the best WR group by a good margin, but part of it was draft luck. Let's hope that Mingo can develop into an AJ Brown type of WR1 for Bryce. -
Both rookies had their OLs let them down big time. Bryce, as expected, looked much better under pressure.

And our two best pass rushers played 0 snaps...

Still way too many questions to really predict how well his season will be. If our defense is top 10 and our OL gets back to his old form, we should be a nice competitive team that could surprise some people. Chark is a big X factor. He has the potential to be a WR1 like he was starting to become in Jax before the injuries. However there is still a lot of unknowns like how good will Mingo be his rookie year? Will TMJ take the next step finally? Will Tremble develop as a pass catcher under this new offense? Miles Sanders was number 5 in the league in rushing yards and he has nice hands that the Eagles never really used. He could end up being a nice compliment to Young depending on how our OL plays. -
You are talking about 1 preseason game. The very first preseason game. I am talking about a whole season's worth of data and stats. I mean I watched Mahomes and the Chiefs starters get shut down by the Saints defense. Keep making long term judgement calls over a couples series in a meaningless game though and let me know how that works out for you....

No prime Drew Brees would be a ceiling. He has been advertised as being the most "pro ready" and with our staff there isn't a reason to think he won't have one of the better seasons as a rookie QB has had recently. There will be mistakes by him and by some of out other players trying to run a brand new system with a brand new staff, but I think Young should have a decent season overall. -
That's exactly what we need for depth. Young OL like Zavala and Jensen who are just going to get better as they get more experience vs terrible vets like Jordan who have peaked and it's a very low awful peak....

Can we double check and make sure Jordan didn't get injured as well? Maybe even triple check....

Wilks didn’t look good after yesterday’s preseason game if we are judging the whole season by one meaningless game. Also how did Wilks do as HC for the Cards?

Yeah your QB has to read the full field quickly for it to have high success. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure our staff would love a WR1 like Chase or Jefferson, but I think a QB with Young’s brain could allow us to spend that money elsewhere. You basically have to draft one or pay a premium for one. -
Which is why you should always draft additional OL later in the draft every year (which we seem to be doing now).

Jordan claiming his top spot. We just need to cut him. -

If you have the right QB (and I think Young fits this mold) a bunch of solid weapons seems like the better approach. Defenses can try to scheme away 1 top player but it will be difficult to know where the ball is going to go if you can execute with a bunch of solid weapons. Brady won several with an elite weapon (I know he got Gronk later). -

That's a big positive people are overlooking. DJ looked like he is 100% back from that injury. That's an injury that can ruin careers because some players never get their speed back. A healthy DJ and Horn could be a nice CB duo for us this year. -

That alone is going to make for a MUCH better product on the field. Should make Young look even better. Now give him Sanders who can actually catch from the backfield plus a wide open playbook and hopefully we will be forgetting about what we saw on Saturday. -

I understand we looked like the worst team in the league during our first preseason game. The main reason I am not concerned YET is the biggest issue from Saturday (our offensive line) has already been league tested and proven last year with plenty of potential for growth. All 5 starters (yeah Corbet may miss a little time) and our OL coach all played solid last year and are now proven/tested in the league. It's not crazy to think they are going to get their issues corrected and get back to the form they had towards the last half of the year last year. Our other big issue (Corral) is probably not playing this year if he even makes the team. Our defense looked vanilla like many other preseason defenses and was missing several starters with others barely playing so I am not really concerned there. The good news is Bryce looked calm and comfortable even with our OL struggles. Once we correct those issues (and it's easy to believe we will) Young should look pretty good. Let's see what Campen and his OL do to look better Friday and hopefully it will be a more enjoyable game. -
Teddy put up those numbers with Rhule as his coach never practicing red zone offense and a terrible OL. It’s not unreasonable to expect similar from Young. 69% (which seems high) 3800 yards 15 TDs and 11 INTs is what he put up. If Young does that it’s not some crazy record breaking rookie season.

We brought in a lot of players and some of our current ones (Burns and Brown) are better built for a 3-4. So we are looking at our front 7 with our best 2 players being better fit for the 3-4. Depth looks to be an issue, but I think the biggest hurdle is just players learning their new assignments.

How about the Dolphins? Should their fans be concerned after their bad preseason game?

https://theathletic.com/3976961/2022/12/07/panthers-ikem-ekwonu-rookie-left-tackle/ The man went 594 consecutive snaps without allowing a sack his rookie year as our LT and you think he is overrated? We had a solid young OL last year (I think we were ranked 11) and now we are returning all starters with our OL coach. It may take a minute to learn the new schemes but calling our potential franchise LT overrated seems odd??

Buechele came in there and rallied his team. Is there a QB controversy in KC now??????
