  1. Exactly. Just because you are part of the staff of a Head Coach doesn't make you an immediate replica of that coach once you branch out on your own.
  2. Again his one year calling plays happened to be Baker's lowest YPA not counting his split year hear. That tells me he was less aggressive with a QB who likes to be aggressive. We have that and almost 2 full years of Bryce Ball here in Carolina. He will take some deeps shots as most offenses have to in order to keep the defense honest. Quick passes and hopeful YAC. I'll give you one guess to which year Rachaad White had the most receptions as TB's RB? Remember the first thing he wanted to do here is focus on how quickly he wanted to get the ball out. That's part of his recipe to help QBs and help his OL. Run the ball, quick passes to hopefully players in space, sprinkle in a little PA. So yeah you can look at some coaches he learned under and speculate, but I am telling you what he literally is doing and has done as a play caller. Offenses that were and are 100% his baby.
  3. DC was only full an OC one year and it was with the Bucs on Baker's "bounce back year." That year Baker posted his lowest average yards per attempt outside the the year he played here/LAR at 7.1. This is with Evans and Godwin as his WRs too. When DC left the very next year he went from 7.1 to 7.9. DC does test the deep ball periodically but so far his offenses rely heavily on quick pass first reads. He does try to run to setup the pass, but he is also too quick to abandon the run. He is honestly still very green as a play caller much less one that is also a HC.
  4. I don’t think scheme is an issue. We use nickel more than 3-4 and have featured 4 DL plenty of times. Gone are the days of a primary base defense IMO.
  5. After next year. So after 2026. Yeah he isn’t financially able to be moved this year.
  6. Looks like we have an out in Wharton's contract after next year. Cap Hit is $19 million dead cap is $4.8.
  7. Yeah no doubt we overpaid on him and Moehrig. I'm just saying scheme isn't really the issue.
  8. He is definitely overpaid and has been a disappointment. Has had trouble staying healthy honesty, but I'm not sure our scheme is an issue. We run nickel more than anything like most teams. We line with with 4 DL sometimes and 3 sometimes. If he gets healthy and starts playing like he did in KC we will roll with a front that is best for him more times than not IMO.
  9. If you are going to line him up against Olave, who is a great route runner, you have to let him press him and get him off his route. Playing him on an island against Olave with 5-8 yards space in front of him is not using him to the best of his abilities IMO and it gives Olave a nice advantage.
  10. I could see us making a trade for Thibs from NYG. A 2nd plus 4th and maybe some late round swaps? NYG isn't going to want to pay him with Burns making his money and they just drafter Carter in the top 5. Thibs is due a contract after this 2026 year.
  11. We are .500 right now and hot and cold which is a sign of a young team. We are in the playoff race because our division is pretty bad. If these teams get better (Bucs healthy and the Saints aren't as far off as people think) it gets a lot tougher. Even if we get in the playoffs we are a ways away from being competitive there yet IMO. Of course a lot can change in one offseason and we are trending in the right direction.
  12. I think we need to build around these two and hope Miller can stay healthy. Flip Melo and Miles for a great player or some picks to keep building this roster.
  13. It would take a really damn good offseason for us to be a real threat in the playoffs. Edge is a huge weakness, our TEs are bottom of the league, we need another WR, our C is a FA, ILB has to be upgraded with Roze being gone regardless, FS, possibly NB, I believe Robinson is a FA as well so DL is another need. These are all needs without even mentioning the whole QB situation plus we have no depth.
  14. If we move on from him my feelings won't be hurt. I still think we have a ways to go as a complete team in general. Bryce or not.
  15. Well you just said HE can't put away teams. I showed you recently it's not just him and you are saying it works both ways. I agree it works both ways. We as a team are having trouble putting away teams.
  16. In our last 2 wins the offense had to put over 30 or more points (actually 24 against the Rams since we had a pick 6, but Bryce threw 3 TDs that game with 0 turnovers so I'm not blaming that on him). I'm not sure that falls on the QB not putting away the other team. The defense is easily exposed against decent offenses. Just throw over the middle.
  17. If you are trying to have a normal conversation with that guy, you are in for a long day...
  18. Yeah he actually played solid. People will get hung up on the total yards his YPA was good enough, he avoided some sacks and made some plays.
  19. Yeah if we sneak in, it's due to a bad division.
  20. It's year 2 for Canales who inherited a 2 win team missing draft picks and with some bloated contracts and now we are 7-7 in mid December. It's ahead of his schedule for the turnaround IMO. 7 wins was the goal with next year being the playoff push. Bucs sucking with injuries made us in the playoff hunt so us fans got our expectations up. There are still a couple ways for us to win this division but honestly we aren't a playoff team yet.
  21. You had a bye week to plan for a bad team and blew the game. This team isn’t ready for the playoffs yet.
  22. I keep looking at mock drafts out of habit. It’s mid December and we are very much in the playoff hunt. 7 wins is still a good season all things considered but I want to see how they handle playoff pressure.
  23. I probably prefer Cooley but both would be solid options
