  1. He will get an opportunity, but if our new staff drafts their top choice with our top pick, it’s hard to believe they won’t favor that pick with such a high investment. Corral should stay on the roster because he is a cheap option at a premium position with upside.
  2. A QB that has “it” got overlooked by everyone but Steve Smith. If he is developmental then why are people concerned about Baker starting over him or us drafting one next year. Developmental QBs need time and don’t work out more times than not.
  3. QB guru Steve Smith? What about the 31 other NFL staff members that wouldn’t even offer a 3rd to draft the guy?
  4. Just think of this… Matt Rhule and our staff valued Matt Corral hugher than any other staff in the league did. They traded to take him in the 3rd round. There is a good chance he wasn’t even valued that high by teams that actually know what they are doing. The man has some potential, but he is extremely far from a sure thing…
  5. Stroud is better from the pocket has the size, release, accuracy you want in a QB. He also can run, just doesn't in his current system. The only negative people have on him is the school is he playing for. He was a top QB out of high school, so if he chose a different school to play for he would somehow be a better prospect??
  6. They are young players that need developing. I’m not saying they are great, but can possibly grow into some roles with a new coach and young QB. The best thing we have is a good OL plus a decent defense. That helps a young QB grow more than anything.
  7. You think we land the top pick? I think we are still going to win a couple, but stay in the top 10. That wouldn’t be “tanking” IMO.
  8. I think we might actually be a good spot for a young QB providing we hire the right coach. We have a good young OL with a decent young defense. If we keep CMC he is a great for developing a young signal caller. Tremble, Marshall, and Shi are all young weapons and can develop with him plus Moore is a solid WR.
  9. Also to the posts about QBs with multiple SB wins. Tom Brady is the only active one and he had a HoF coach for a chunk of them (and he will be retired next year). Big Ben also has a HoF coach. It's very rare to have a QB with more than 1 these days.
  10. I think they just want a top pick. Number 1 picks often go to bad situations. I’m pretty certain we will have a top pick tanking or not. I also don’t see Wilks “tanking” this season.
  11. Absolutely. You need a good coach and supporting cast to develop your QB. Stafford just showed what a difference that can make. The constant playoff threats GB, KC, Balt, Buff typically have a 1st round QB paired with a good coach and team. Once Herbert gets a good coach LAC will be in the mix as well.
  12. The last SB was between two number 1 picks. Cam was the best thing to happen to our franchise as a number 1 pick. Get the number 1 pick right and develop him and you have some stability. Never draft a QB and at best you are the Colts.
  13. Sorry it was some low hanging fruit from the guy who also doesn't like "running" QBs.
  14. YA Tittle from 1948???? You think Flynn was good? He was a 7th round pick that couldn’t land a starting job anywhere he went…
  15. There has been different coaches/schemes over that time. LSU had Flynn and Russell, should they have avoided Burrow? Any good QBs out if Tennessee before Manning? Auburn before Cam? Texas Tech before Mahomes? Oregon before Herbert had Mariotta and Harrington? Like I said, illogical….
