  1. I get where you are coming from and there are definitely two theories on developing these young QBs. One being what you are saying and throw them out there and let them learn as they develop because our team isn’t going to be a playoff team as it sits with Darnold. The other is to sit back and let them learn the mental aspect of the game. Let our new OL gel and learn to play together for a 5-8 weeks or so while bringing in Corral for a couple plays here and there to learn the speed of the game and then play him when our team is more stable and he is more ready mentally. Also if we have a top 5 pick and Corral hasn’t had much playing time, a 3rd round QB shouldn’t stop us from drafting our guy next year. Let Corral develop in a great backup with upside or even trade him.
  2. Our staff had a day one grade on him. They are expecting more than a backup out of him. I’m not saying they are right, but I expect him to replace Sam before the season is over because Sam might not even be a solid backup.
  3. The GM should get final say over the head coach for draft picks. Hopefully that is the way it went down.
  4. Why do you care at this point? He is on Washington and seems like a solid guy. Wish him to best except when they play us.
  5. Hell yeah. His dad played OL too he was solid on UT’s OL. His brother was also starter with him.
  6. Hugh Freeze? I believed he coached Ole Miss a while ago and go in some trouble right?
  7. You me and a lot of these analysts didn’t see THIS happening, so I wouldn’t worry about it. Predicting/guessing is part of the fun!
  8. Yeah the commentator on NFL Network called it wrong. It threw me off too…
  9. We swapped two picks. Our 2 5ths for their 4th and 6th. Fourth rounders are usually delth/ possible starters down the road. If he ends up starting we did great.
  10. Ohh ok we got their 6th. Got it thanks!
  11. We needed LB depth in a bad way. Do we have any picks left? It said we traded our two 5ths and 6th for that pick.
  12. It’s hard to tell if it was Brady or Darnold that had our offense so predictable. The issue was defenses knew what plays we were running before the snap. That had to be Brady being too predictable, or maybe he didn’t trust Darnold to run a more complex offense. The offense he was trying to run seemed similar to Corral’s Ole Miss RPO quick reads, but that’s too simple to run in the NFL. Like you are saying hopefully McAdoo gets the keys to run the offense as he sees fit and can develop Corral into a solid QB. I love Corral’s leadership and toughness (again this can be a fault too) and I think he can toughen up our locker room and become a leader pretty fast. Darnold doesn’t have it in him to be that guy. Cam was great at it.
  13. Yeah good point. I think we cater an offense to fit his strengths. McAdoo likes the WCO. So I can see a lot of quick reads/passes with a few RPOs mixed in there. I would not want him running too much either as he doesn’t have the frame of a Josh Allen or Cam Newton.
  14. He did it briefly at Ole Miss, but not nearly enough to show he can do it at the next level. This plus protecting his body/bulking up will be his two main obstacles to overcome in the NFL IMO.
  15. Under throws don’t always equate to lesser arm strength. Timing, feet, pressure etc can lead to this. Corral has shown he can launch it down when needed. I watched him thread some needles and there are highlights of him launching it 50 plus yards with his feet set. It’s not on Willis’s level but I don’t think any QB in this or possibly last (Maybe Zach Wilson) we’re on par with Wills. Willis is going to have a top 5-10 arm in the NFL (just for strength) right away. Corral excels at processing and making quick reads, quickly getting the ball to his playmakers hands ( with his insane release). That should be a nice fit for our WCO. He also can extend plays and quickly set his feet with his “twitchiness” similar to young Brees (not saying he is Brees just similar in that trait). If he can get the mental aspect of playing QB in the NFL he will be solid. He showed a huge jump last year in decreasing turnovers which leads me to believe he is pretty coachable and smart. Lastly he will need to bulk up and protect his body. I’m college he fights through contact which was why he was constantly injuring his ankles. In the NFL that will cause a much more severe injury.
  16. I noticed when they asked where they had Corral ranked, Rhule immediately looked to Fitts. That tells me Fitt was running this draft.
  17. Yeah… that’s true… If Rhule magically becomes the best coach in the league he won’t get fired.
  18. Fitt doesn’t seem to like the media interviews. I think he is too honest with them because that’s just his personality and he realized he stated, indirectly, they are favoring their 3rd round rookie over Sam.
  19. He is 1 inch shorter than CJ Stroud and 6 pounds lighter. He is bigger than Bryce Young by 2 inches and about 20 pounds. Those are the top 2 (as of now) in next year’s “loaded” class.
  20. I’m pretty sure he is taller than Howell. He is like 6’1 5/8 and Howell is just over 6’0”
  21. Can’t we also roll over the extra cap space? I’m not entirely sure about all the rules of the salary cap, but rolling over some might be a good idea. We restructured several contracts to keep our options open so we may need the space in the upcoming years.
