The Athletic's Ted Nguyen scouts Kenny Pickett

Why isn't his hat backwards??? -

This is what we know about Kenny Pickett. He has shown he can play the game at a very high level in a Power 5 conference without a loaded roster. He made a big jump from his previous years (which to me means he put in the time to get better at this craft. This is essential to have a successful NFL QB IMO. The greats are always trying to get better.) He has good speed for the position and uses it to extend plays and has an average NFL arm (this isn't a negative or a positive just average). He seems to be one of the better QBs at going through his progressions/reading defenses last yet. He only had one great year and his hands are 3/8 of a inch smaller than Burrow's are his negatives. I would be more concerned if he was Jordan Love with one good year not being his most recent one. I think he is a decent prospect and if he build properly around him (like almost any QB) we can have success with him. -

That's also why Bryce Young worries me a little bit as a prospect. It's hard to evaluate Alabama QBs with their NFL OL/RB/WRs every year.... -

Then shame on us and we need to be better. Sounds like we are starting to get the memo with our OL coach/FA additions. -

I’m still confused? Is this specifically for Pickett? His arm is capable of making big time throws he just can’t rip it like Allen/Mahomes. Brady’s arm isn’t top in the league and he seems to be doing fine. The QB with the most “big time” throws was actually Howell believe it or not. -

Why do you consider him a system QB? Looks like they run a pro style offense at Pitt… -

I really don’t understand the Pickett hate. It’s like Mac Jones all over again… He is a solid prospect IMO. -
The board would become nothing but trolls/fighting everywhere. Basically the tinderbox, but worse.

B) all day long. More picks.

So aside from Brady (unicorn) and Mahomes (mobile/plays outside the pocket a lot), which recent Super Bowl Winning Pocket Passer would you want on our team? Stafford who couldn’t win a playoff game until he went to a loaded them, 38 year old Manning who leaned on Denver’s elite defense, Nick Foles, or Joe Flaco?

Orlovsky: Pickett doesn’t have anything that isn’t coachable
ForJimmy replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
He played hurt the previous year. That’s one of the reasons he said he came back. He knew he could play at a much higher level healthy and guess what?? He was right.. -

When they talk about QB not having any “elite” physical traits he would be one just like Brady. They make up for it with competitiveness, living in the film room, and staying calm under pressure. My point was it’s dumb to write off a prospect like Pickett because he doesn’t have any “elite” physical traits. He has shown he can play the position at a high level. -
Fields was my draft crush too…

I'm a little more confident with McAdoo and our new OL coach, but I completely understand the worry about any Matt Rhule lead team trying to develop a player, especially a QB.

Yeah look no further than UNC to show what you are saying. Howell had to run a lot more this year because his OL was terrible. It basically became a one read and run because he would be sacked otherwise. Liberty was much of the same. The fans that watched Willis/Howell play can see this. The ones that haven’t or just are against drafting a QB will try to argue differently.
-
Yeah when people mention raw talent in a small conference than needs to be developed his name will come up for obvious reasons. If Lance has success his will as well. Allen is the reason Lance went 3 overall and Willis will go in the first. It’s a copycat league.

That’s why we are waiting for Chosen. NO QB will be drafted until Chosen is ready! -
To think an owner would bank on a coach tanking seems extreme. Just fire the coach and don’t let him do more damage. I love the draft, but that is nonsense…
-
I think he is joking at this point. Or I hope…
-
That’s the stupidest poo I’ve heard of. Tepper should just fire Rhule if that is his plan. Why sign these 1 year guys? Why restructure contracts and ruin next year’s cap? Complete nonsense…
-
Don’t even try they will pivot and change what is considering a “running” QB. When we had the Super Bowl conversation 4 of the 11 all time top rushing QBs have rings, but don’t count…
-
You don’t like any of the QBs we are all painfully aware. You want then to play Darnold and tank for one next year.
-
I’m getting Rodney Peete vibes…
-
I’ve already stated he is better off going to a stronger organization like the Steelers and we could ruin his development. I think Corral fits what we are trying to run the most. A run first offense with a quick QB who can get the ball out quickly to his playmakers. Before you flip out, yes 6 would be high to pick him. Neal/Icky should be the pick if there are there at 6.
