  1. I like Willis, trade down for Howell, and I can live with Pickett. Mariota really wouldn't be that bad I know some people on here were against it, but he has the size, speed, and has had some success in the league already. I really don't have an issue with the Love idea. If Love can be had for cheap (4th round or so), I could see giving him a shot. The major red flag to me is how far GB went to keep Rodgers vs rolling with their young talented QB. Rodgers is getting up there in age and they could have still got a huge return for him. I mean they let Favre go to roll with Rodgers so they aren't afraid if they are confident in the next guy. However, Love has talent and if he is terrible you let him walk when his rookie deal is up (one or two years left without picking up the 5th) and take a shot at the next draft class with our new coach. It would allow up to BPA with our first rounder pick (probably a pass rusher or OT).
  2. So you like Willis? Assuming McAdoo and Ryan can develop him of course…
  3. He got traded to a team he approved and he got a huge guaranteed contract. You were wrong about it and can’t handle it. It doesn’t matter if he can “live up” to it because it is guaranteed.
  4. I’m not sure where you are going with this? You claim Willis never played any talented teams. I show where he beat a team with way more talent that his team had then you pivot to Edwards. Who exactly did Lance beat at NDSU that made you high on him?? Who did Allen beat at Wyoming??
  5. Oh I get Minshew is nothing special. I just think Leach is underrated as an offensive minded coach. He created that offense that several teams are incorporating now. He just sucked ass at defensive coaching.
  6. You really think LIBERTY had any business putting up 38 points on a power 5 conference team?? Let’s be honest Va Tech paid Liberty to come and lose by 50 points like these power 5 teams do to small schools like Liberty, only Liberty had Willis. Why were you so high on Trey Lance last year? He didn’t play against any decent team and had more talent on his roster than any team in that conference. I liked Lance too, but he was a pick based on potential just like Willis is.
  7. You know Kliff Kingsbury was a Texas Tech QB for Mike Leach and incorporates a very similar Air Raid offense right? I don’t know how you can really say one is more NFL ready than the next. I was doubtful of Mahomes because of that “college” offense he played in, but I feel like a lot of NFL teams have incorporated college offenses to help these players get up to speed quicker. If Minshew had Mahomes’ arm he could be extremely successful in the NFL despite playing in Leach’s offense.
  8. Right?? This guy was all for Lance last year who was on a loaded NDSU team in comparison to the teams they were playing. Willis actually dominated a Va Tech team with a Liberty roster…
  9. What? You mean you didn’t want us to draft Texas Tech QB Mahomes in the top 10 one year removed from Cam’s Super Bowl Run MVP season??? I thought everyone did…
  10. Oh yeah, he would make sense on a BPA option if we had a complete roster. The man is very talented and as you stated you can’t have too many WRs (especially cheap rookie ones).
  11. It’s his damn mustache and mullet. It’s so stylish! I don’t really care for him but he would be an instant upgrade at that position for us, not because he is great but because we are so bad at QB right now with PJ and Sam…
  12. Unless we get a vet QB, we are drafting one. They are not building this team and risking their jobs on Darnold rather we like it or not.
  13. Lamar is the real deal. Who is his best weapon Hollywood Brown? His TE is good too, but I’ve seen him rally that team to some crazy comebacks. However IF they decide to trade him he is going to want a new contract like Watson’s which is not worth it.
  14. It’s all about the price. Cheap deal no problem. Average starter money too high IMO.
  15. Last year we were idiots and though Sam was our guy. (I was begging for us to draft Fields). He is not. Last years QBs were not that impressive year 1. Hopefully they will be better year 2, but that class may be overrated.
  16. We don’t have a QB and our staff is in a must win year. Drafting a OT at 6 and ignoring the most important position in sports will almost certainly result in a losing season and their jobs. I get that it makes sense for the long term, but coaches have short windows now. Plus we could end up like the Colts wasting away a talented team never being bad enough to draft a QB.
  17. And we have a good secondary coach in Wilks! There is a lot of potential there.
  18. Oh yeah I get the red flags. Hand size, average arm strength, older, one year wonder, I just saying that last year his strength was going to progressions. The one read, half field myth falls more into Willis/Howell this past year and that’s mainly because they didn’t have much of an OL to stand behind and make reads.
  19. I live in Knoxville and watched the UT game live. Pickett was frustrating the UT fans because he navigated the pocket so well and seemed to make the right call when needed. They put up 42 points on the road at UT (yeah they aren’t elite, but it was a SEC defense vs ACC offense). If it was 3rd down everyone knew Pickett was going to make the play. He had over 300 total yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs. If he did this reading half of the field, then UT was stupid and allowed it. You take what the defense gives you.
  20. Yeah he isn’t my top choice either, but processing speed is seen as a strength for him…
  21. They are both statistically sound QBs that don’t have elite arm strength. Both excelled in reading defenses and carving up the middle of the field. They both are the calm, confident leaders that tend to have support if their locker room. Pickett is more athletic, faster while Jones tends to do better navigating the pocket, Pickett rolls out to buy time.
  22. Last years were a let down their rookie years. Hopefully they step him for their sophomore years.
  23. If Tepper and Rhule like him it sounds like he is the guy…
  24. Love has talent, but Green Bay preferred to pay a 36/37 year old QB a ton of money vs letting their first round pick have his shot. I know Rodgers is special, but so was Favre and they let him go for their younger Rodgers back in the day. If GB doesn’t think he is the guy and is trading him for nickels on the dollar that’s a red flag. Similar to what the Jets did with Darnold, except Sam had a larger sample size to see how bad he was/is.
