  1. He took the paycut to just the guaranteed money for this trade to work. If he stayed a Panther he would make even more. Sounds like he knew he would get cut if this trade didn’t work and lose the money anyway, but that’s just me speculating...
  2. He wasn’t here for the buying portion. He is more of a cut your losses and move on kind of guy.
  3. Come on man... He took a pay cut and got traded, both things you were convinced wouldn’t happen. I make plenty of bad calls myself (just wait until tomorrow), but you have to own them.
  4. I could see this happening. With the right QB, they will be back to their winning ways. No one should trade with them out of principle...
  5. Yep. Saves us money plus a draft pick!
  6. Are other teams this high on Horn? I mean a top 10 pick CB better be the next Ramsey... I think Horn is good, but not much better/equal to several other CBs in this draft.
  7. I’m not saying trade up for him, but if he falls to 8 and we like him then take him. Darnold isn’t a known player IMO. If he is known, he is known to throw INTs and not being very good. Our hope should be he is an unknown at this point who can still be very good and only looked back because of his situation. The “red flags” are what? Processing speed? He literally had the best rating throwing the his 2nd and beyond read of the top QBs in his class. I think he is falling because of the Indiana and Northwestern game (both of which he won). There was a lot going against OSU in those games. Missing best WR, missing coaching staff, missing offensive weapons and constantly having games cancelled or delayed due to COVID. Check out his previous year tape and he checks all the boxes. Plus he looked great against Clemson this year when he was dialed in. If our staff could unlock that one a regular basis...
  8. Lol, man I was hoping you knew something I didn’t about him playing LT!
  9. I read MHS’s write up on Elf as a LG/C which had me pretty optimistic. I don’t think I’ve read the Erving one yet.
  10. We went ahead and made it a future 2nd to lock him in right when ATL says their pick was for sale (QB needy teams step right up and rivals will pay extra) and it still might be! Honestly Fields probably won’t be there at 8 and then we will be happy we have Darnold.
  11. Next year’s first is crucial. It allows us to move up and take a QB in the 22 draft if Darnold doesn’t work out. If he does then we get to load up with more talent for the man!
  12. You see LT potential in Erving? I don’t know much other than he graded poorly on PFF, just curious...
  13. Rhule took a 5-11 team gutted it and kept a young team at 5-11. Cam, Luke, Olsen, and Addison were all departed and CMC played like 2 games. From the outside looking at the records it looks pretty bland, but they did a great job given the circumstances. Not to mention first year head coach with limited offseason through COVID. They also hung around teams like GB and KC they had no business competing with.
  14. I wouldn’t mind Mills or Newman, but it would need to be 5th round or later (don’t see Mills lasting that long).
  15. Yeah I got you pretty good on the head. Might have given you some memory loss...
  16. You just earned a VIP ticket to the Fields bus! (And yes I’m driving)
  17. “Smokescreens aren’t as common as people think” You have literally taken quotes from the same conference stating they are confident in him. A quote comes up that doesn’t fit your narrative.... must be bluffing for draft season. Sorry but you can’t have it both ways.
  18. https://www.panthers.com/news/scott-fitterer-adding-sam-darnold-gives-panthers-options People seem to ignore this. Fitterer states this doesn’t take them out of getting a QB. He also states it allows them to take the BPA or make moves. They didn’t want to go into the draft with any needs...
