  1. Maalik Murphy will be eligible, big QB with big upside but I’m assuming he stays in school unless he has a great season. Riley Leonard has a lot of upside as well and I expect him to look a lot better at Notre Dame. I’m also curious to see Connor Weigman at Texas A&M. He put up some solid numbers in limited games.
  2. Scheme and fit matter definitely, but if you are an NFL QB (especially a talented one) there will be flashes and some signs. I think the ones that get their careers broken are in inadequate offenses (bad weapons, bad OL, no running game etc…) and a constant turnover of staff can do it. Basically what the Bears did with Fields and what we have done with Bryce so far.
  3. Yes you have said all of that as well. I was just saying having concerns about a one year OC transitioning to HC and trying to call plays like you have stated before as well implies he could be in over his head this first year. I’m not calling you out or anything. It’s a concern and I’m sure there will be some growing pains along the way. As for the Bryce thing, he is either a NFL QB or he isn’t. If he doesn’t look any better this year, then I think we simply move on and let Canales pick his guy. I think Beck has a big arm if that’s his type. Trying to build a very unique roster just to see if he can find success isn’t a good idea IMO. If he looks much better this year then sure you can cater a little more to his skillset.
  4. Maybe not enough experience yet? They seemed to keep him around until another team offered him a promo, so they didn’t think too badly of him. WR coach to passing game coordinator to QB coach.
  5. I'm pretty sure you have stated concerns about him being a first year HC after only being an OC once and wanting to call plays. I would say that is thinking he is in over his head regardless of the QB situation. I'm not saying you are wrong either as it is a valid concern. Hopefully we show some patience with him to see what he can do.
  6. I'm thinking we keep the 3-4 regardless, because Brown is really shining as a 3-4 DE which looks to be his natural position. He is pretty much the building block for out defense.
  7. Yeah and my point is there is an article talking about what they are doing to correct Young's footwork and people are wanting to know "why it was posted?" This one isn't as much of a fluff piece, looks like its more transparent and people still don't like it. Also fluff pieces will always exist because its a bustiness. There is a whole PR group dedicated to it. Like you said, if you aren't a fan of them (which is understandable) then just ignore them.
  8. The Anti-Bryce Posters have replaced the Bryce Fanboys from before the draft. It's like they are stuck on repeat. We might as well bring back @rippadonnif we are wanting to read the same spam constantly on every thread.
  9. So we don't like fluff pieces and we don't like transparent pieces? What is the answer? Just no news or updates because people don't like that either...
  10. I’m intrigued. I think we should get a lot of questions answered. How does our new HC adjust with his new role, a better assessment of our QB, how important was Burns to the defense, can Evero piece together another defense with limited parts etc…
  11. Are you allowed to post fluff pieces?? (Kidding) He worked a long time under Carroll. I hope he learned a ton under him. They do share similar personalities.
  12. He is out there coaching his teammates. I love it!
  13. Man this staff is easy to cheer for. I hope they turn this franchise around.
  14. It’s also his most recent team. The further away we got from the Ron years, the worse we became.
  15. This was only posted in this thread because @CRAwas wanting a Matt Rhule GIF. But yeah Fitt sucked as well, I think everyone agrees on that at this point.
  16. We better take that Jets game personally. They gave it to us last year
  17. God I hope so. It’s been a minute…
  18. Should have traded him for Higgins and 2 1sts. Could have built a solid offense around McCarthy with that kind of capital.
  19. The Bears wanted too much for them to move up one spot. That’s why they were trying to do the three way trade. There is always a limit as to how much teams want or prefer one player. As Ryans said both players were still closely enough ranked so they didn’t think it was worth it to move up. People are just using hindsight to dismiss all the pretty obvious signs already mentioned. Like I said it doesn’t matter or affect us in anyway but they lucked into Stroud a little.
  20. I really don’t understand why it bothers some that the Texans more than likely had Young over Stroud. There is a lot that points to it like Ryans still not saying who their top QB was after he got Stroud, he just said “we had Young and Stroud ranked high.” You have players celebrating that win that dropped them to 2… I mean if Stroud was QB1 to them they win didn’t matter right? You have a former reporter for Houston saying he thinks they would have picked Young if they had the top pick. Again it’s all for nothing as they lucked out and landed Stroud. If they had a big gap between the two they would have jumped up to secure their guy no matter who they “thought” we were going to draft. Thats too big of a risk to take if Stroud was their guy all along.
  21. Like him as a player or not, it’s always good to see athletes give back.
  22. Makes sense but the interior OL was by far our weakest link. Bozeman played terrible and the OGs were playing like they didn’t belong in the league. Icky was up and down (normal sophomore slump) and Moton was solid as usual. I’m not as concerned about our tackles as we have BC and the GB guy as backups as well. Two big FA OGs should help but C is the red flag currently.
