Not in terms of legacy. Getting Cam injured makes him the worst on field draft choice
-
Second only to Carruth. I don’t even count that piece of crap
-
I still think it’s a win-win. I hope CMC wins the Superbowl and that Panthers can make those picks count. We relied on him too much and made us too predictable. He is much better when he’s one of many weapons instead of being the main guy. Shannahan is using him perfectly
-
KB was the worst first round pick in history. I remember watching him in 2016 and thinking how lazy his route running was, slow and pathetic
-
Lost between the lines is the fact he didn’t thank Tepper for the opportunity to be the interim head coach or the opportunity to interview. That says something and I don’t like the insinuation that he wasn’t given a fair shot. Ultimately, Tepper wants an offensive minded coach and Wilks is not it, regardless of his skin color.

Oops sorry missed the other thread, feel free to merge
-
Not gonna lie, he was my favorite prospect coming out of the draft. I think he would have had a good season this year if he didn’t get hurt. With Purdy looking like the next Tok Brady, I think 49ers may to recoup one of the 3 first round draft picks they traded for him. If a QB isn’t available at 9, do you think we should consider trading the pick for Lance and let him and Corral battle it out?
-
Tepper should hire a consultant to do the head coaching search. This would allow him to make an objective decision rather than emotional one.
-
Does it really matter what fans want if majority of the players want Wilks?
-
I hope you're right
-
That's what I'm afraid of, we don't have the draft capital to trade up and if we do, it better be for a can't miss prospect.
-
He's already older than Darnold, terrible pick.
-
I think the most clarity anyone can have about a QB class is right after the season and before all the combine and pro day nonsense where terrible quarterbacks like Zach Wilson somehow get hyped into getting drafted second overall. All you need to see in a quarterback is watching situational football in real games.
-
This - I'm not sold that Fields will pan out long term. He relies on his legs too much
-
I think someone will trade with Bears and grab a quarterback and don't think it will be Panthers. Colts, maybe? It's safe to say Young and Stroud will be gone early, I am hoping someone drops to us like Will Levis or Anthony Richardson. Am I being delusional? Is trading up our only option to land one of the top 4 QBs in the class?
-
9th pick purgatory. Just take the best QB available or trade back and draft a prospect and hope either he or Corral can come good
-
Stephen Ross is Daniel Snyder and Donald Trump combined.
-
May become available I would consider him for sure
-
I'm 50/50 on this. I like Wilks and the respect he commands just not sure he can win consistently with his style of coaching. Harbaugh has proven he can win in the NFL and would be very exciting to have as a head coach.

Can Sam Darnold play himself into becoming the 2023 starter?
NAS replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the Darnold we hoped to see when we traded for him. Should we forget about how bad he looked last year and look at his overall performance this year? He didn’t sulk when losing his job and continued to work hard so he could be ready to take advantage of his opportunities. He has played really well and with more poise than ever. I think Sam should be retained at least as a bridge quarterback while whomever is drafted this year and Coral have a chance to develop. Sam has shown that he can play in the right situation with the right coaching and protection. He still struggles when protection isn’t there and makes poor decisions. I think we may have already seen his ceiling, can make all the throws but inconsistent mentally to be a franchise QB. If he can somehow continue to develop that pary of his game he is still young enough. He has definitely saved his career. Imagine how badly Baker looked in this offense and Darnold was able to flourish. Perhaps with the Rams or the 49ers he could be a top 10 QB. Darnold has proven he still can be a professional QB in the NFL. Needless to say that trade with Jets looks a lot better than it did a couple of months ago. I know many Jets fans who wish they would have kept him instead of drafting Zach Wilson who looks like a total bust. -
There’s nobody worth trading up to. I would rather draft based on position or stick with Darnold on a cheap contract
-
We were playing a lot of man to man which we haven’t done much all year. And you especially don’t do that without Jaycee on the field. Wilks and his staff screwed up big time
-
Give us enough hope to get euphoric only to let us down. I knew Jaycee would be missed but I hoped Wills could at least scheme our way into a reasonable performance. Allowing Evans to have a Julio like game of 200+ yards is disgraceful. This franchise is cursed. We need a new head coach
