  1. He could have started with never having back to back winning seasons
  2. Teddy is useless. We’re paying his salary this year so I don’t want him to do well
  3. Maybe because he has a lot of young players on the roster. Hopefully he will adjust as he grows into the NFL role.
  4. Kind of off topic, but I don't think they should award pro bowl awards for Fullback anymore and need to give it to another WR position.
  5. Per Darrin Gantt Tight end Giovanni Ricci is a fullback now, changing his number from 87 to 40. The Panthers don't have a pure fullback on the roster, and Rhule said this gives Ricci a chance to prove himself beyond his solid play on special teams. "I did that just to change the way the offensive staff looks at him," Rhule said of Ricci's switch. "He's done a good job so far. He's playing well on special teams. And if you play well on special teams, you have to find a role for guys. "We like our tight end room, and we've been searching for a fullback; we'll continue to look at other guys, but Gio has a chance to help us."
  6. Meaningless preseason game and he doesn’t need the reps.
  7. Definitely at least a nominal entry fee so people take it somewhat seriously
  8. Wilson is going to be a problem on offense, he can sling it!
  9. I'm ok with RAS in rounds 3 - 7. First and second rounder need to be specialists for their position that can start Day 1.
  10. I am not so sure if they didn’t like Fields or that they already took the QBs off the board since they made the Darnold trade prior to the draft. I argued prior to the draft that they should still draft a QB if he falls and have him compete with Darnold. My preference was Lance but he went way earlier than most mock-ups. Doubling down on QBs would have increased our chances of securing the most important position on the team, but defense would obviously suffer without a talent like Horn.
  11. Very reasonable although I think year 3 is reasonable to expect a winning record (9-8 maybe?)
  12. Agree. If we’re honest we all thought we would be competing for the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. Some may still hope we did, but the young team definitely overachieved last year which is a big reason so many have unreasonable expectations for this year. I personally would be OK with a season where we can get close to a .500 record and can legitimately take the next step in 2022.
  13. Ravens have a history of finding good kickers. I think they discovered both Tucker and Gano. We should take a hard look at Verity and trade a late pick if needed https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2021/8/16/22626390/jake-verity-could-be-the-next-undrafted-kicker-the-ravens-trade-for-a-draft-pick
  14. Butker apparently couldn’t beat out Gano in our camp either in 2017. He must not have been very good either
  15. Not necessarily, how many years did we have draft picks struggle to make the team, especially those drafted after the third round? You can tell early on if they have it or not. For example, we all knew Eric Shelton and Dwayne Jarrett were busts in camp.
  16. Most new coaches have a honeymoon period that gets them the benefit of the doubt and a lot of leeway with, not only the owner, but the media and the fans. I think that, in his second year, Rhule is still on a honeymoon period with Tepper and the media. With the fans, however, I feel like Rhule had a very short lived honeymoon period that basically ended when he had to release Cam and signed Bridgewater. Even though his team overachieved last year based on the fact that team was in a full rebuild mode, he doesn’t seem very popular with the fans who remain skeptical. There seem to be three main reasons for this: 1. Rebuild since 2018 Many fans don’t consider the rebuild to have started in 2020. Instead, they date it back to 2018 when Tepper bought the team. They unfairly are taking their frustrations out on Rhule even though he has not had a chance to really put together his program yet. Even last year, he had to deal with the inept Hurney. Historically it took him until year 3 to build a winning program. No such patience with this fanbase. 2. Lack of NFL experience. Right or wrong, many fans don’t seem to put as much value on his leadership abilities to put together winning programs like in college. They think college head coaches seldom translate to the NFL often emphasizing failed experiments with Saban, Kelly and others. I think the main difference is that Saban relied on getting the top players, Kelly on offensive scheme. Rhule relied neither on top recruits nor the X’s and O’s, he simply maximized everyone’s potential to work together as a team. 3. QB decisions Starting with Cam’s release, Bridgewater signing and now the Darnold trade, some think Rhule is in over his head and doesn’t realize how important the QB position is in the NFL. This is perhaps his biggest unknown. If he can really redeem Darnold and get him to be elite, then he will silence all doubters for a very long time. In conclusion, it’s clear that this year is crucial for Rhule as far as fan support is concerned. The honeymoon period is already over and expectations are higher than perhaps is fair to have in only the second year coaching.
  17. Rhule confirmed the plan was for him to play between 5 to 10 snaps on offense. Unfortunately, he had only 8 snaps and only two pass attempts. Unless the concern is keeping him from getting hurt, I am not buying it. I think it has more to do with slowly building his confidence by providing continuity with offensive line and his weapons. Rhule indicated he expects him to play the first half but was a but noncommittal.
  18. Is he any good? It would be so ironic if we traded for him given that Gano is the reason Giants may trade him.
  19. This. I seriously doubt he would do that.
  20. Why not use Tremble in short yardage goal line situations as a fullback?
  21. I am OK if they extend him but pay him WR2 money. Keep him at 10 MM per for next 3 years
