Looks like McDermott didn’t learn from his time with the Panthers about not riding his QB to the ground like Rivera did with Cam Newton. Let’s hope he lets him fully heal and doesn’t allow him to play through an injury. Yes the injury didn’t occur on a running play but we know the cumulative effect hits can take on a shoulder and elbow. Allen was running way too much last night. This may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. At least he’s not targeted like Cam was by defenders and doesn’t have refs against him either.

You’re quoting the Cleveland experience of drafting multiple QBs in the first round who turned out to be busts. There were other QBs who they could have selected which means the decision to draft a QB in the first round wasn’t the problem, rather that they chose the wrong ones. Should we not give the benefit of the doubt to our scouting department and the GM? Their first round draft record, including QBs is pretty good.

We are in QB purgatory but we have not drafted any in the first round yet so this take sucks. We have to draft one in the first round

He may still be a backup material but most QBs can’t make that throw. It’s probably a short list of Mahomes, Josh Allen, and a few others. That was an elite throw, moving to his left, off balance, and throwing a 67 yard pass with accuracy
