  1. Eh, with all of the preseason reps he got I would think he is prepared to at least run the offense. I would think the whole point of benching him, unless the scenario I described, would be to keep him off the field as much as possible. He has been simply atrocious.
  2. Well that's a terrible call IMO unless Canales truly believes that being sat is the only kickstart Bryce needs.
  3. Did they say Bryce would be the backup? If so, I haven't seen that. My assumption is 3rd string/full inactive with Plummer as #2.
  4. A large number of those were his own fault. Still a high number even with those taken out, but that total was a notable symptom of Bryce's poor individual performance.
  5. Duh. At no point last year except for the 2nd half of the GB game did Bryce look like a QB near, or especially not above, the Mendoza line (Dalton line...). Him showing up and playing markedly WORSE this year just drove that point home.
  6. It was always going to be an uphill battle with him no matter what due to the inferior physical tools. Was a bad pick at that spot from the start that looks even worse now.
  7. Jesse Bates - week 1 Kenny Moore - week 9 DaRon Bland - week 11 Antoine Winfield - week 13 Antoine Winfield - week 18 All secondary players.
  8. He means that Dalton hasn't had a winning record in a season as a starter since 2015, which is true. However, several seasons were at .500 or just below it, so still notably better than anything Carolina has put on the field in years.
  9. This is absolutely pathetic. Whether Canales, Bryce, or whatever combo thereof, my son's 8th grade QB was throwing the ball 40 air yards this week. Just insane to AGAIN be seeing this out of Bryce and this offense.
  10. Cam had 485 yards total passing and rushing vs Green Bay, career start #2. Just another level entirely.
  11. Am I seeing that statline right? 8/10 for 22 yards?
  12. Don't get me wrong - this is not an excuse. However, to state an extreme example illustrating the point, dropping into KC is a very different situation than Carolina. IMO Bryce was always going to cap out at Teddy-lite IMO in the best of all cases. It's just a hypothetical.
  13. I've always been low on Bryce, but it is completely fair IMO to wonder if he'd be closer to Teddy (as one example) than where he is if he was in a better situation. Not an excuse for his poor play of course, but there is always a 'nurture' aspect to it.
  14. Yup. Dude thought he was going to waltz in and outsmart the league. Remember him crowing about the Rhule hire and, as one example, all the talk of the sport science stuff, and then we just never heard any more about it because he realized every other team was already doing it?
  15. Reich was an atrocious hire from the start, so while no one predicted that big of a flameout from the team the failure itself is unsurprising. For that reason I don't really blame Reich either; never should have been hired in the first place. Now Rhule... Rhule shouldn't have been hired either but that dude was (is) a blowhard. I absolutely blame him for trying to turn Carolina into a college program.
  16. For teams that had been completely overhauled like Carolina was? Absolutely.
