Canes vs Rags Round 2 Game 2 Tuesday 7PM
PleaseCutStewart replied to KingKucci's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Terrible D, but I think we need to give a look to pyotr for game 3 -
This. I still think Frank wanted CJ because he likes the tall, strong armed type of QBs. Bryce was literally the complete opposite of every other QB Frank has liked. Bryce has no excuses this year. The Oline is much improved and if our draft picks are at least halfway decent, he has a pretty good looking run game, receivers that can get open (Thielen, Johnson) + a speedster to stretch the field in Legette, and a TE I am pretty high on in Sanders. If he doesn't show significant improvement this year, we need to be drafting our next QB (I assume we will be picking top 5 if he doesn't significantly improve)

At this rate, we will have a 53 man roster of just RBs... -
Canes vs Rags Round 2 Game 1 4pm

We have got to play better if we want to win this series... We did not play well against the Islanders and have not played well in game 1 vs the rags -
Canes vs Islanders Game 5 Round 1 7:30
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
The good news is the last time I saw a team this confident about beating us and almost all of their fans predicting a sweep or their team to win in 5, it was the Devils last year. And that Devils team looked like our bitch in that series. Rags fans are almost (key word almost) as annoying as Bruins fans. I would love nothing more than somehow winning in 4 or 5 and just watch their fans go on suicide watch -
When are we able to cut miles Sanders and it not be a terrible cap hit? Hopefully after this season

Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
PleaseCutStewart replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, if these strengths and weaknesses are accurate, sounds like he has big upside and can do well with coaching. Sounds like he is somebody we don't want in coverage though -
Hopefully the shortest of leashes if he sucks next year

Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4
PleaseCutStewart replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was easily our best pick of the draft in terms of value -
Possibly. I don't think he's a bad running back, I just think we have weaknesses at every other position more than the running back.

Jesus... I did the 999 challenge tonight and pull up the draft list to see we traded down for a running back God we are just the laughing stock of the NFL

Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1

I said compared to DK prior to his rookie season -
Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1
PleaseCutStewart replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I might be in the minority of not liking this pick, but he needs a ton of development on his route running. It's nice that he's a big bodied wr that should help with jump ball throws, but there isn't much more I saw out of his highlights that had me wowed. I'm seeing comparisons to DK, but Legette is way more raw and unpolished of a wide receiver than DK was going into his rookie year IMO Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't like this pick -
Well, there will be no semblance of a draft haul for us
PleaseCutStewart replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Or someone like that geriatric bum DE we drafted in the 3rd round last year... -
Well, there will be no semblance of a draft haul for us

Likely, but that means a definite 1st round talent will be available at 33 -
Canes vs Isles Round 1 Game 3 7:30
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Wasn't able to watch much of the game, but awesome win in a situation that the Islanders were going to throw the kitchen sink at us to avoid going down 3-0. Finish it up Saturday and rest up for the rags -

This. He has been grading out as our worst defenseman on the ice in most games this season. That just means our forwards have to be more aware that TDA is on the ice and we can't afford to be leaving him back defending 2 on 1s -
Rumor: Canes Acquire Jake Guentzel
PleaseCutStewart replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Please a million times yes!!! Would love to lock him up long term, even moreso if he is willing to take a slight discount because he likes being here. -
Round 1 Game 2 Canes vs Isles 7:30pm
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
No words to describe how amazing of a comeback that was. That's the kind of win that can give us momentum all the way to a Stanley cup. That slap pass by Svech to aho was a beaut -

We are in trouble. Two consecutive games where we have played like ass and we are lucky Freddie won us game 1 -
Round 1 Game 1 Canes vs Isles 5pm Saturday
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
This is probably the worst I have seen us play in 2024.... We have to pray Freddie shuts them out the rest of the game -
Honestly, Herbert was one of the harder QBs to figure out pre-draft for me (I feel like I have been decently accurate on predicting how well QB's would be for the years we have been looking at QB). He was high on the draft boards prior to his last year in college and then had a down year and slipped a bit. Coming from an Oregon system that does not translate to the NFL at all, I was a bit worried if his college play would translate to pro football. Obviously he has been very good, but he was one of the QBs that I thought was the hardest to figure out whether he would be good or not in the NFL. And although it sucks not having that franchise QB, we got an absolute stud in DB that I feel like would have way better numbers if he had more talent on the d-line and didn't get double-teamed non-stop

Honestly, if Burns got credit for a sack for beating The lineman guarding him but whiffing on the sack, he'd be a top three pass rusher. It's pretty crazy how many times he beat his guy and had a free run at the QB and completely wiffed. I think that is why PFF and other systems like that grade him high even though his stats weren't what you'd expect for a guy that got the contract he did. Even a couple of years ago, I thought he was one of the best pass rushers that never could sack the QB.
