With how big of a dumpster fire our team was his entire tenure here, outside of years 1 and 2 I think, I would probably be ecstatic to be on a team that is much better also.

Hopefully they call every little ticky tack thing on Gudas possible with how he held that Toronto player's stick on their series winner

Luckily Pieterangelo isn't on the other team for this series, so hopefully he can make it at least 1 shift...

I gotta say... It's refreshing reading through Florida's forum and seeing that most of their fans are reasonable and actually acknowledge that we are good, even though we don't have the noteworthy players like Matthews, McJesus, etc. I definitely got tired of reading the Devils forums saying we suck and after we whooped their asses in 3 of the 5 games, it turned to "well, our team just sucks or (insert player name or coach) sucks" Should be a fun series with both teams being great on the forecheck. Somebody sacrifice a chicken so that way Skjei can stop tossing grenades and turning the puck over in our zone. Defense needs to keep playing like they did in games 1, 2, 4, and 5. Florida has a lot of scorers, so we will need all of our lines to show up.

Man I hope Vegas doesn't make the finals. If we beat FL, that would be probably the worst possible matchup of all of the playoff teams there were.

Seattle has looked like the much better team in the series. Wouldn't be surprised if they win game 7

Florida's scoring depth is a concern and much like NJ, can be lethal on the counter. But I think we matchup pretty well against them. I am way more concerned about the matchups against the teams out west - Vegas, Dallas, and Seattle are all matchups that are not ideal for us.

Any idea when game 1 would be for if Fla were to win in OT? Possible that both western conference series go 7, so I assume that would delay the start by at least a day or 2

I'm glad we avoided that Dougie contract so much. Dude has an absolutely lethal slapper, but his defense is weak. Burns has been a revelation for us. He has the puck handling skills of DeAngelo but can actually shoot and play defense. As much as we have poo on the front office for not making a splash trade at the deadline, they have done very well with trades in the offseason and with bargain bin signings.

Glad to see KK score some goals this series with how well he has played. Definitely had bad puck luck against the Islanders and glad to see it turned around this series. And I don't think Slavin gets enough credit for how amazing he is on defense. Dude has a +/- of +13 through 10 playoff games. That is crazy good. I'm not sure there is a better defensive defenseman in the NHL

Also, who would have thought with all of the bad luck we had with injuries to close the season/begin playoffs + being quiet at the trade deadline, that we would now be saying 8 more wins for a cup. Crazy

Florida is very similar to NJ. They both rely on counters and odd man rushes. Honestly, I think we match up pretty well with them, much like NJ. Florida's depth of scorers is concerning, but their defense is lightyears worse than NJ.

Falcons and it isn't even close. Saints didn't really become a rival until they got Brees

D put on a clinic with the press in that 3rd period. We really didn't give the Devils any room to breathe that period. Keep doing what we are doing and don't give up any odd man rushes and we got this

The one against Turbo was dirty, but as least he was trying to make a "defensive" play (I use the term defensive loosely there). Pieterangelo's slash was against a top 5 player who didnt have the puck with full power coming downwards. Honestly might be the dirtiest slash I have ever seen live. I'm glad Draisaitl didn't get hurt

That is crazy Nurse got suspended for game 5 for "instigating" a fight with all of the dirty poo the Golden Knights were doing. Meanwhile, I think Pieterangelo gets off scot-free for one of the biggest cheapshot slashes against one of the best players in the league. If Nurse gets a 1 game suspension, that dirty prick deserves a minimum 10 game suspension. No place in the game for that - no physicality or big hit or anything - just a pussy move to try and break somebody's arm.

I think NO has the most complete team/depth outside of QB, and they actually got a solid QB this year. Not sure how you have Tampa ranked #1 - the team lost their entire pass rush outside of Vea, is awful at half of their O-line spots (with no oline depth), and practially lost all of their secondary depth The only positions I think they are strong at is WR (if Godwin can actually stay healthy), LB, and secondary (1 injury here severely changes that though). I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa is a seller at the trade deadline and finishes last in the division.

Pretty entertain reading the Devil's forums - pretty much every fan says the only reason we won is because they started Vanacek in net. I guess they forgot that Schmid has been just as awful in the series. As long as our defense doesn't make awful turnovers or lose positioning, we end the series Thursday. If we have a shitshow defensively like in game 3, then I will be worried. Hopefully game 3 was the outlier that doesn't happen again the rest of the playoffs. I am still thoroughly impressed with how great our offense has looked this series. Maybe part of the reason is the Devils look like ass on defense, but averaging over 5 goals/game in the series (not to mention hitting the post what feels like a dozen times) is something I would have never imagined.
