You make a great point, I just get pissed about his end of season comments that he made public about not wanting to be part of a rebuild. That alone makes me want to cut him, although logically it makes much more sense to sign the best available WR in free agency to be our number 1, draft a WR with out 2nd round pick (basically a 1st), keep Mingo and Adam

Let them both go. Adam T as well, he already mentioned not wanting to be part of a rebuild ( it sure why he ever signed with us in the first place if that was his mindset) but we don’t need that attitude on the team.

This is a great hire, and a step in the right direction on overall structure along with having a buffer for Tepper…..

Some people are good coordinators but it takes something different to run an organization. Some don’t have the personality (see Mcdaniel’s) and some need to adjust to being that type of leader which may be Johnson’s case. Asking for money that scare off teams is a weird thing though, and making the commanders turn the plane around is not a good look either….

Absolutely not. CMC is a perfect example of why you don’t trade him away. We already have an insane amount of impact players. You have two more years of cheaper money to pay him, so you let him play it out and see if he can change his bad luck with injuries. Thomas Davis is a good example of working with someone. He may not stay healthy, and you make that decision after year 5 but no way we should trade him for peanuts and make an already weak team worse. He impacts the game when he’s playing.

Tepper is such a joke. Why the F*ck would he be that involved. He should not be anywhere near a locker room or any assistant coaches ever again. He should have meetings with his GM and F*ck off with the men who actually know football and have been involved with the players. /Rant

Article: Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen never got the chance to take the field with Dave Canales as his offensive coordinator. Nonetheless, the former Pro Bowler realizes what a divisional rival is getting in the 42-year-old play-caller. As first reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Carolina Panthers are expected to hire Canales as their next head coach. And Jensen, who appeared on Thursday’s episodeof the Short and to the Point podcast, was asked which of Canales’ characteristics will help him thrive in his new position. “I mean, his leadership,” he told host Jessica Kleinschmidt. “The first time I met Dave, I was a little unsure of him. First time bein’ an offensive coordinator. He was just such a like happy-go-lucky guy. And I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s see how this is gonna work out.’ But, when it comes down to the root thing, he’s such a man of relation. He wants to have relationships with all of his players and lead them through the tough times. “I mean, you just look at us, like Week 11, we’re 4-7, and that could’ve been a very big transition, and the whole thing could’ve just imploded. But throughout that entire struggle, where we lost five of six, Dave was the same person every day. Came to work, got the guys ready to play, stayed the course. And I think that’s something you look for in a head coach. And I think he’s gonna be very successful at it.” The 32-year-old was sidelined for the entirety of the 2023 campaign due to a knee injury. In Teppers mind, I bet He’s thinking that our new coach is getting an absolute minimum of three years to prove himself. This way Rhule and Frank are off the books, and he can move on if needed, and he shows the league that he can be patient. This also gives us time to move on from Young if he does not work out. If it works out then things are fantastic, if not, clean sweep with coach, gm, and QB

I get it. We will all assume that Tepper will continue to be way too hands on which could have the same results as before…..but logically this is the exact same wording used for the other coaching hires. All coaches/gm’s report directly to the owner. The one glimmer of hope that I have it that this seems to be a Morgan hire, and I hope Tepper will start backing off and allowing them to run the operations of the team. We are all pisee off at how terrible this team has been, but just like the Novel “message to Tepper” post from yesterday, this seems to be reaching for something to be mad about.

No sane person would say it was a good decision at this point. I DONT disagree with the aggressive move as long as it panned out. If we picked Stroud, no one would have blinked an eye at what was given up.

I get hating Tepper but the interviews are not directionless. We have some solid candidates set for our second round of interviews and seeing Vrabel on the list makes me happy. The Eagles OC didn’t make the cut for 2nd interviews.

No you are not. That’s called projection my friend. I’d rather win….i don’t care if it is Stephen Hawking running the team, I’m just saying I have a bad feeling about him coming back leading men on an NFL team with his personality. He will prob win games in LA (he has a top 5 QB) but in my opinion he would have zero chance here. That personality only works in certain circumstances, and you cannot deny that the reports weren’t glowing when he left the NFL originally. Yes he had a winning record on loaded teams, but he was 8-8 in his last season and bounced out (any time there is adversity he seems to leave immediately.) He has a track record of moving on pretty quick and does not have glowing relationships with teams he has worked for in the past. Again I’m not debating his ability to win games on talented teams, I’m just saying I fell like he would have been a disaster playing for certain NFL teams….us included. He always seems to have one foot out the door, even Michigan got tired of him talking to NFL teams every off season and he would say the complete opposite when ask about his NFL interest.

I get that he has had success, but I never wanted him. He seems like an odd guy to me personality wise.

Winning is the only thing that matters. Would ANY gm hire we made made you change your opinion of the team currently though? I get being pessimistic on Morgan, but tell me a candidate that we interviewed that would have made you want to renew PSL’s……..

I definitely didn’t take the grade to heart because that ultimately means the same as a huddler giving a grade. I did find it interesting that two of the 4 mentioned us hiring one of the candidates that we interviewed to work under Morgan. It brings up an interesting conversation because many, Including myself did not want a candidate that was more of an “analytical” guy and it will be interesting to pair one of them up working under Morgan who seems like a traditional GM with scouting experience.
