Reich could be for us what Doug Pederson has been for Jacksonville. All we’d need is a young talented QB.

They’re not wasting time that’s for sure.

This will be worth watching as well. May be a determining factor if this becomes a requirement for the new HC.

I doubt anyone in the front office would sign off on Wentz coming here. We can certainly do better with whoever we hire.

This as fans we sometimes lose sight of the human element of all this. It’s not as easy as simply pulling up stakes and moving to a new team and location. How will such a move effect his family, if he has one? What if the candidate decides he likes the stability of where he is, rather than the uncertainty of going to a new team with obvious challenges? Is he well connected enough to bring along qualified assistants, or will the new team expect him to retain some current staff members? A lot more involved behind the scenes that requires careful consideration before making the jump.

I still think the decision will come down to Reich or Wilks. Whoever comes up with the best plan to fix the offense will have the edge.

Listening to Kyle Bailey’s show yesterday and heard Steichen is returning to Philly. Didn’t catch the source but everything’s fluid at this point. We’ll know more after this weekend.

Both are examples I point to when considering our next coaching hire. I don’t think there were many outside of the organizations hiring them that took them seriously. No one’s chuckling now!

No one ever heard of Sirianni either. I believe he was a reluctant play caller with the Colts - does anyone even know what his official title was? Zac Taylor was more well known but again did anyone foresee him leading the Bengals to this level of success? Trust the process

Couldn’t help but chuckle at this one. Wilks understands the game. He’s rightfully giving this process time to play out. If not, he doesn’t deserve to be a HC.

Sounds even crazier when you put it that way LP. I’m not sure anyone could believe that deal would make sense. I’m certainly glad some of these armchair GM’s aren’t making this decision. Something else I heard on Kyle Bailey that we should all think about - no one ever heard of Nick Sirianni when he was hired a few years ago. His first press conference was forgettable at best and I’m sure everyone thought the Eagles played themselves. Two years late - he’s got them on the verge of their 2nd SB. Lesson? Sometimes the right guy is not the one everyone wants or the sexy hires. The Panthers absolutely need to nail this one, whoever it is.

Wilks will never sign a one-year contract and the Panthers would never foolishly offer him that. It will be Arizona all over again - a PR nightmare a deterrent for any future hires and sends the wrong message to the team and the fans. He’ll get the standard 3-4 years if offered the job and that’s fair. Give the man a chance to succeed. And Harbaugh was never coming here. There’s no reason to believe he was ever leaving Michigan. Let’s move on.

I hope Tepper does the same IF he decides Wilks is the man for the job.

Understand and agree with everything you said. It’s not over yet. We just have to trust the “process” - where have we heard this before? Not like we have a choice anyway.

I certainly do. I’m right here with you - been a fan since the beginning. I know how it ends. Unfortunately we fans can only hope the new regime understands the history and makes this and other decisions accordingly.

You know, I’m not a Patriots’ fan by any street h but this is the best move they could’ve made and makes a helluva lot more sense than having Matt Patricia as your OC. Nice going, BB!

Remember Wilks has a pending discrimination lawsuit against the NFL that I’m sure is a major factor in the lack of interest across the league. And yes, Brian Flores has an interview request for an opening - from the AZ Cardinals. The same team who jettisoned Wilks after one season and is the reason he added his name to the litigation. Just sayin’

Don’t forget with a chance to win the division (as terrible as it was) and make the playoffs. With this roster. After the horrendous start to the season and the most important position in flux. And surviving Rhule. I too am slowly coming around to the idea of Wilks with a top-flight OC and better DC. Not my top choice but they don’t pay me to make these decisions.

I think Ryans has at least earned a virtual interview with us after his unit’s performance.

Demeco Ryan is calling a helluva defensive game. I wish our D could play like this instead of the bend-don’t-break, 10-yd zone D we’ve been forced to watch.

Was little more than a caretaker for Cam IMO. And he’s pretty much that with Buffalo as Daboll’s replacement.
