  1. That had better be a conditional 1st. Dude is hurt, so there ought to be some strings attached.
  2. He wasn't a problem child until Cleveland went squishy on him. The moment things went a little sour, management started to blame Baker. Yes, at the point your employer starts blaming you for all their ills, people tend tend to get a little defensive. Baker is no different.
  3. I'd be down with that, especially if the OTs are gone.
  4. So you are saying smokescreen or Rhule thinks he can pull off a successful season. Even Matt Rhule isn't dumb enough to think this is a playoff team with a rookie QB.
  5. This is as done as a done deal could be...before actually being done. The only way Pickett isn't a Panther is if someone takes him ahead of us, smh
  6. So Panthers-like to take the QB in the down middle year between stacked QB classes.
  7. Yeah, but that doesn't keep them from drafting one this year. The 2-year deal is purely as a stopgap.
  8. Fitts: Hey, can we get you on camera showing us your hands so we can appease all the knuckleheads over at the Huddle?
  9. There are two downsides as I see it. Baker may already post 2017 Cam with the constant injuries and if healthy all year, he'll save Rhule's @ss.
  10. Rhule: I can put something in your hands to make them look bigger.
  11. Baker is actually a decent QB when he's not playing hurt. Problem is, he seems to always be playing hurt.
  12. He doesn't have to an All Pro, just better than Darnold...and yes, just a stopgap until next draft.
  13. I'd go out and outbid them for Mariota and force their hand. I know, a complete d*ck move, but hey, we are talking about the Falcons!
  14. So they are copying what we should be doing?
  15. Again who is Atlanta trading up with? They are not going to let us dictate who they draft as a QB.
  16. Willis has an arm, but does he have Darnold field vision, meaning the lack thereof? That is his knock on tape..limited progressions and avoids routes to the interior of the field.
  17. Nah, just up to the Jets. The Giants may be in play for a QB. It's doubtful that the Texans or Detroit take one that high. I think the Texans sit tight and take their guy next year in a MUCH better QB class. Remember they just got a TON of draft capital. Same with Detroit. They are on the hook with Goff for 3 more seasons. No need to draft his replacement right now.
  18. They have 2-1/2 hours before Ryan's roster bonus is due, so this has to move fast!
  19. Yup. I'm not sold on Pickett or Willis and our defense will eat either of them alive. The Falcons know we are interested in a QB. To get their guy, they are going to have to move up.
  20. 10 yard fast ball against no rush or coverage. Not very impressed.
  21. Will they trade up in front of us for one of these two? I HOPE SO!!!!! I would love us to go against one of these rookies next season! Who is the likely trading partner?
  22. Thanks for the recap. I acknowledged the reasoning for the metric, I just think jumping ability isn't very applicable to the success of a NFL QB. A good athletic QB does not necessarily mean a successful NFL QB. I mean, what were Tom Brady's numbers? Pretty putrid I would assume. This is how I would label the top 5 traits of a successful NFL QB. 1) Cerebral 2) Accurate 3) Film junky 4) Arm strength 5) Overall athletic ability
  23. Like a K and P, I could care less about a QB's vertical and broad jump. His 40 time, sure, that's relevant. I get that's part of him being graded as an athlete overall, but jumping ability has little to do with QB success.
