  1. The 4th preseason game key starters don't even see the field. I mean the see it, but only from the sidelines. Agreed that the other three preseason games will be approached the same as they traditional have been with the 3rd one being the "dress rehearsal". That 4th game was such a snoozer anyhow. I would always sell those tickets if it was at home.
  2. At some point you have to produce more for more pay, period. You are such a condescending cuss, but undoubtedly you take pride in it, el-oh-el. No wonder with that avatar.
  3. I don't need a lecture on the CBA, I just pointed out that they are getting massive pay increases for the same work load. They should be glad the League didn't scrap preseason altogether and go to 20 games.
  4. Player salaries keep skyrocketing but want to do the same amount of games. I wonder if the League went to 15 games if they would take a huge pay cut? It's not an additional game anyway, as one preseason game got axed. They just don't get to get paid for watching on the sidelines as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th string play in the last "tune up" game.
  5. I think Atlanta takes Fields if he's there. If not, I think they are 50/50 to take Lance. If they pass up Lance and nobody trades up, we should be good for Trey at #8. The Patriots kind of worry me though if Lance makes it past the Falcons. I don't believe the noise about Detroit and Denver. I'm 99.99% sure they are sticking with their current starters at QB. Here's a thought...how about if the Falcons fell in love with Wilson and is willing to trade up two spots with the Jets? The Jets, publicly, say they are committed to Darnold. If that's true and they absolutely can get the same player at #4 as #2 (49ers are taking a QB) while picking up draft capital, then it's a no-brainer for them. In that scenario we should have at least one or the other between Fields and Lance...possibly BOTH (if the Mac Jones to SF noise is real is real) assuming no other team trades in front of us.
  6. Jones likely would have been there at #12. You don't jump up to #3 for Mac Jones. Crossing my fingers that the 49ers have been snookered by all these mocks saying the Panthers were moving up for Fields and it is in fact Fields they are after.
  7. I think they want Lance. Jimmy probably won't get moved this year and Lance needs a season to learn.
  8. If Lance makes it past the Falcons, then we make the move. If the current order (with the moves today) stays the same we could wait until #8, but Denver, Patriots and yes, Ron Rivera makes me nervous.
  9. No actually they didn't. Remember Daronld getting traded, Tua was getting traded and the Falcons draft Ryan's heir apparent? It hasn't bee so long ago.
  10. If we miss out on a QB in the first round, I'd take Davis Mills from Stanford over Kyle Trask...and yes, over Mond. He's moving up draft boards. He'll definitely be there in the 2nd, but iffy if we wait until the 3rd round.
  11. I said that we didn't have to worry about the Falcons, Eagles or Lions taking a QB to the worry warts. I also said the teams we did have to worry about were the QB needy teams behind us. I ALSO said the team the worried me the most to leapfrog us was the 49ers. I should play the lottery.
  12. Orlovsky sucked as a QB. He's just mad he wasn't a top 10 prospect. Yes, footwork can be worked on and Trey has. If doofus wasn't so stuck in his taking points he could go back to Trey's Pro Day where it was pointed out that he HAS, in fact, been working on his footwork this offseason.
  13. I'm leaving LB out my mocks from now on. We've signed more than I thought we would in FA. I was initially looking at MLBs last month in my mocks, but seems that LUUUUUUUKE has been snatching up some guys in that Pro scouting department. If I do mock a LB, it will be a safety hybrid.
  14. I know he can inside on passing downs, but he's too slight to be a rushing DT. What, all of 280 pounds?
  15. We need a DT signing before the draft. Stupid short-handed at that spot, unless anyone is banking on Panasiuk to be a key contributor. If his name doesn't ring a bell, he was on the practice squad most of last season. Yeah, that's our #3 DT right now and an injury away for starting. I'm all for drafting a DT, but I would rather not double dip at that position considering all the needs we still have left to fill in the draft.
  16. I forgot about the cap hit that goes along with a trade. So I guess we are stuck with middle-of-the-road Shaq for the next couple of years.
  17. LOL, good luck with all of that. Besides, I doubt Bed Bath and Beyond would honor the coupon for Grier.
  18. Yep, with our luck he'll just play well enough to seek a big payday. I'd rather offload him, get an extra draft pick and draft another corner this year. One that may not be quite as fast, sure, but a hard-nose tackler and stellar in coverage. This class is LOADED!
  19. So what if we get a rookie QB this year? Start him and let him get shell shocked or throw Walker/Grier out there as sacrificial offerings? Our OL is still very much a work in progress. You are all about some tanking, BTW.
  20. Wow, I'd guess you'd start Grier over Teddy then, huh? I'm not his biggest fan, but you are putting him in the Jimmy Clausen category as simply a putrid QB.
  21. Eh, I think we still could upgrade. He will always be a timid shoestring tackler.
  22. The reason I didn't mention him is we need to have a fall back plan. Would it be ideal for TB to be the starter next fall? No, but what would be less ideal is we move him and things don't go to plan. If we move TB, we need to have his replacement here first.
  23. In exchange for another player or to pick up extra draft picks. I have 6 (with explanations): -Shaq Thompson: Overpriced with average production -Greg Little: Can't stay healthy and hasn't lived up to his potential -Ian Thomas: Unable to take the next step; destined to be a #2 guy his whole career -Donte Jackson: Yeah he has speed, but can't tackle, can't stay healthy and coverage skills is marginal at best. -Will Grier: Third round draft pick warming the bench, enough said. -Marquis Haynes: Nothing more than a situational (undersized) pass rusher that hits FA next year. Get something for him now. Who would you attempt to shop before the draft?
  24. Ben Mason from Michigan is a hoss. He could fill that FB, H-back, short yardage/goal line void left by Armah leaving in FA. He's the top rated FB on some boards. Totally worth one of those 6th round comp picks.
  25. I wouldn't mind shopping Ian Thomas now. He's a placeholder at this point and we should move him while he has some value rather than watching from the sidelines all season. A player-for-player swap or a 7th rounder would work. We still have a few more holes on the team than draft picks, but that gap is shrinking...thankfully.
