  1. Yup, more flags in the final 5 minutes than the rest of the game, I think all but one was on the Bengals. The PI on the Bengal's LB Wilson was complete BS. If that was PI, then 90% of PBUs are PIs.
  2. Ah, so we need to draft a punt returner and teach him how to play QB?
  3. This is not rocket science. Draft a LT in round 1, period...end of discussion on the first round pick. We now have our bookend tackles with Moton. Draft a C/G also in the 4th or 5th round. Centers hold their value better than about any other non-STs player in the late rounds. Have him back up Elf this year (if he doesn't beat him outright) with the expectation of starting in 2023. Have BC beef up maybe 10-15 pounds and hit the weight room with him penciled in at LG. Why LG? He can be the backup LT in an emergency. Brown can't do that. Speaking of Brown...have him hit the weight room too and give that man a salad. Pencil him in at RG. In 2023, that is your starting lineup. Bring in a couple of FAs in March for depth and competition. Why is this such an enigma?
  4. LOl, but people want pin the loss on Eli Apple. Once the Rams got aggressive up front and stop trying to play coverage about midway through the 3rd quarter...the Bengals were toast. They couldn't block the 5th guy that, for whatever reason, the Rams weren't bringing the first half.
  5. Here's the bright spot about our OL, most of the dumpster fire are FAs this coming season, meaning we are essentially in a rebuild on the OL anyway. Put aside the play absolutely SUCKED this past season, but we only have Elflein (meh), BC, Brown and Moton under contract (as of now) for 2023. It's Elf's final year though. Brown and BC get coached up this year...finally so they can be solid starters in 2023, draft a couple of rookies and add in a FA or two and we have decent OL in 2023. Yes, this is two-year plan, but it makes the most sense.
  6. WE really only need 1-2 OL FA signings...IF we dedicate at least 2 picks to the OL in the draft.
  7. I'm holding out hope this is a smoke screen in case we have to trade back. Yeah, I know who really wants to trade up to #6 for Kenny Pickett? PLEASE let an OT be there!!!!
  8. Not far, he would have benched himself by week 8 and held out until his trade demands were met. He wouldn't even do that with the Lions. How crazy is that?
  9. Time and time again, great QB play with a bad OL can get you only so far. Heck, maybe even to the Super Bowl if a QB is playing out of his mind, just not far enough as in a Super Bowl win. Ask Cam Newton, Patrick Mahommes and now Joe Burrow.
  10. Both. You can't fill all the spots in the draft and don't re-sign any of the hot garbage from our OL last season.
  11. I agree, day 3 QBs hardly ever work out as franchise guys. Backups? Sure, but we have a much more glaring hole at QB1. The facts are HBCU players didn't get offers from any/many FBS schools coming out of high school. Sure some choose to go to smaller schools for their educational preferences. However, if these players really want to pursue football in the NFL, they take the FBS route if the opportunity presents itself.
  12. Season 1 under Matt Rhule Season 2 under Rhule Season 3?
  13. CMC preferring to hang out with the Panthers that were winners than his current teammates. I'm sure he uttered something at that dinner along the lines of, 'man, I wish I could have played along side of you guys!'
  14. And yet we are heading into year 3 of a rebuild whereby we should be competing for the divisional crown, but here we are still floundering in the NFCS cellar.
  15. At #6--all OTs Ekwonu Cross Neal Only after trading down C Linderbaum ILB Dean DE Johnson
  16. It's nearly a 9:1 ratio on the poll. The 10% is either desperate for a QB or trolling. I doubt 10% of Huddlers think Pickett is ACTUALLY a franchise QB.
  17. Rhule is dong this to buy him a fourth year. 'Mr. Tepper, you wanted us to get a young QB, but it's impossible to win with a rookie QB. I'll need another year to develop him'.
  18. I'd have to brush up on my German. Ahem...Einen bier bitte shoenen fraulein. Grossen beir, nicht kleinen beir. Sehr Danke! Anyway, I know I butchered the spelling....
  19. Rhule can only find old guys to come here because nobody that wants to further career will come here. The old guys could care less, 2 of the 3--possibly all 3 will probably just retire once Rhule's staff is let go. They took this job to pad their retirement funds. Campen may still coach, but Paul P. and Snow will likely trade in their play books for rocking chairs.
  20. Everyone remembers late Jake---noodle arm. Unfortunately last impressions usually stick. Before he blew out his elbow and Tommy Jone forever changed Jake's arm strength, Jake actually had a cannon. Not Josh Allen strong, but well above average. That pass in the SB clip traveled 53 yards in the air AND he led Muhammed...he didn't have to break stride. I still remember watching Jake during his first TC. On my annual pilgrimage to Wofford, this particular day it started raining in the morning and they moved practice to the gym. Fans were allowed to watch form the second floor balcony. Jake's throws were popping. Some friends and I were like that Saint's backup has some mustard on his throws! You could literally hear the slapping of the ball when it hit the WRs hands. His velocity looked twice that of Rodney Peete's throws. So no, Jake didn't always have a noodle arm.
  21. They left to take other jobs, not fired. Heck, credit to them for getting out now instead of getting fired in 12 months or so when Rhule and staff all get shown the door. Smart moves. Rhule even tried to get Pep Hamilton who chose to stay with Houston's dumpster fire rather than come here.
  22. Yeah, only billionaires were in the running for the Panthers. Heck, when it was speculated John Elway or Peyton Manning were interested, they were forming ownership groups because not even those guys have enough money to buy the Broncos outright.
  23. There's some draft experts that speculate that Rhule may take a defensive player to further strengthen that side of the ball. It would make sense if our offense was average and not HORRIBLE. I can't see that happening unless all 3 OTs are gone and we are unable to trade back out of #6. THEN and only then do I think we take the top CB or Hamilton.
  24. I read that Pederson really wants to help Trevor by providing pieces on the offense . No WR is worth taking #1, especially this draft, so the only other place is OL. Ekwonu is nipping at Neal's heals. If Icky tests better and looks better than Neal in individual drills, he may go #1. Good for him. Honestly I'd rather him get taken #1 than get my hopes up and the Giants snag him at #5.
