Because there isn't a source or you can't out your source?
-
Bryce's stature really hampers him at this level. His bad habits I think are a direct result of him trying to compensate for it. I know other QBs have bad habits too, but his is directly tied to him being a slight dude, IMHO. In other words, I'm not sure some of his issues can be fixed.
-
Walk off FG too. We lose if Eddie missed it, so even that win was dicey.
-
That would truly be a total reset. Maybe the Teppers can adopt Bryce and the three of them can live happily ever after running an European soccer club.
-
Probably, people tend to keep bad habits as they get older rather that create new ones. This is why I am so weary of QBs from top, I should say elite, college programs. The amount talent around them is so damn good that it masks deficiencies.
-
I didn't delve into Young's pre-draft criticism because I honestly didn't care to. Again, this is what I see with my own two eyes, NOW, not some scouting report from February.
-
Suited his skills. The coaches tailored the playbook for their point guard and he still looks bad.
-
Cam was a physical specimen and did well in spite of his QB mechanical flaws. When you are 6'5" 255 pounds and can flick a football 50 yards standing completely flat footed or falling backwards, yes, coaches will turn a blind eye/accept those issues if they can't be corrected. At 5'9" and >200 pounds with a slight frame, QB mechanics have to be good, REALLY good. I dare say excellent.

Mr. Scot, apologies, but I don't feel like getting into a pissing match this morning. Here is what I see: -He's short--can't fix that -He's lite in the arse and can't generate NFL sufficient tork/velocity -He's inaccurate outside of the number beyond ~15yards. -He's not hitting tight windows -He has no internal clock/innate sense of where the danger is in the pocket -Despite his size, is not overly elusive -He has horrible mechanics --He throws with his feet not planted, usually on his the balls of his feet --His feet is not square --Has a long wind up --Has a shot put motion when generating more power for longer throws, creating an even longer wind up --Has some silly hop--not hitches--before some throws
-
Eh, not so much that--where a guy goes to school-- as the NFL doesn't like to see their top *brand* guys flop. They rally around top draft picks not playing well, especially in year one.
-
I mean, people in the media are still defending Fields. So...... Not dishonestly, but trying to deflect for the *golden boy* position.
-
QB sticking up for another QB. Funny how he points THIS week's Houston game and our game. Context is everything. Why? Top 2 defense in the Cowboys (as you well know) versus a bottom 10 defense in the Cardinals whom the Texans played. So yes, Stroud had more time, but I would dare to say he was more accurate too. Stroud did throw picks, but he also won his game in spite of it.
-
Yep, him too. Greg's a Great dude and identifies as a Panther for life, so he's not going to badmouth the QB. It's easier to scapegoat an entire unit than an individual. Granted the OL play has not been great, but that does NOT leave Bryce blameless. Actually I would say some of the OL woes is directly because of Bryce.
-
He's missing open guys even when he has time! What is so hard to understand about this? If Bryce was getting pummeled every pass attempt, I could accept this narrative, but *shock* the OL occasionally does their job in pass pro and he STILL can't hit a WR more than 10 yards away consistently. I may call into Ellis' show this week. He's being a complete homer about this and should be called out on it.

Fitterer is an Absolute Idiot for Not Trading Brian Burns in 2022
45catfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, no more defending Fitterer for me. I was still 50/50 on him entering the season, but he continues to make poor choices. Dude is bent on recreating a team in Seattle's image a decade ago over creating the best version of this Panthers' roster. He's still tainted from Rhule. When I say tainted, scarred. I think that's the reason we jumped up to #1 this year knowing all the QBs had question marks. Stroud probably had the least questions and we passed him up. Having PTSD from Rhule's poor choices for veteran QBs gave Scott a knee-jerk reaction to a 'must have' rookie QB this season. It was obvious--painfully obvious-- to me that putting a rookie QB out there with a bunch of JAGS on offense wasn't going to bode well. To my astonishment, it has been even a worse disaster than I had envisioned. Bryce may be a one-and-done, but that only happens if a new GM is here. If Scott some how kisses Tepper's ass and still retains his job, then Bryce will absolutely be our starting QB next season whether he deserves to be or not. -

I about threw up in my mouth when I found out he got an extension. I was calling for us to CUT the dude because he sucked, but no, we rewarded his shoddy play with a sparkling new deal. We could cut him next year, but with a near $4M cap hit. Heck, I'd rather him ride the bench then collect $4M to do nothing. Watch, he will have a few more catches with maybe a TD by the season's end and we will extend him again. It's the Panthers way. -
I remember and I literally said the same thing two post up from yours.

15 year season ticket holder... I won't be renewing
45catfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Club level may be different. I literally paid the PSL fee along with the cost of tickets that first year. I don't recall paying PSL fees in multiple years, but could have. The agreement stated that the rights to the seats would be forfeited for failure to purchase season tickets. That much was spelled out clearly. This is pushing 20 years ago, so I might be foggy on those details. Are you on a payment plan for your PSLs? I mean, if you are penalized, if the fee is cheaper than the tickets and you really don't want to go, then perhaps pay the penalty. Plus add in the cost of game day itself, it might be worth crunching the numbers to see if it makes financial sense. -
^^^This x1000. I bet Tepper said to Frank, 'you bench Bryce, better pack your bags.' Dalton, while not a word beater, is still probably a top 20-25 QB in this League. Frank knows this and for some reason is reluctant to pull the plug. Morale has got to be slipping and trotting the little tyke out there the rest of the season isn't going to do anything other than further erode his confidence and alienate the rest of the locker room towards the coaching staff.
-
No we could not. This is not about winning as much as giving mini-me every chance in the world to succeed in spite of himself. If this was about winning, Dalton would have been starting for a while now.

45catfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Contract? It's a yearly renewal with season ticket purchase. You own the rights to your seat(s)--the license--as long as you keep buying the tickets. I chose to stop buying season tickets and forfeited my rights to those seats. Yes, I tried to sell them, but I wasn't getting any bites even at a few hundred dollars each. I chose to walk away than sell them for a few bucks. That would have been insult to injury. -
Unfortunately, that's not the only example. I think I'd rather have Bruce as our QB.
-
If Tepper still wanted Bryce, then there would be little difference if Wilks was our coach. Sure, we may have run the ball heavily for another win or two this season, but this kid isn't NFL material.

I bet they have Bezos on speed dial. Word was the League was prodding him to gauge his interest in the buying the Washington team. -

Fewer people in an exclusive group is all it boils down to. Logic says if 5 persons pooled their money together and was going to buy something from me at a higher price, I could care less if only one person was willing to pay nearly that much. The Washington team was just bought by a billionaire. As time goes on, it's going to be a tighter knit, fewer hands in the pot League. I bet Green Bay drives this elitist League crazy.
