The top 5 FA safeties going into this offseason was pretty well agreed upon with a consensus. I don’t think better version is the right phrase. Even looking at their grades, you can see they’re extremely different players. One is an elite run defender that struggles in coverage and can get to the QB when asked. The other is coverage first, and does not get to the QB when asked. after what I saw on the field last season I still have 0 issues at all with us getting a safety who can enforce run d

I would hope we roll it over. If Bryce proves to be the guy this season, we will go all in over the next few years on big name splash guys. If he isn't, we will draft a QB early and spend it on defense.

Special Teams. We need a gunner and LB depth. I know he isn't good, but I can't imagine he is worse than the bottom of this LB roster plus he's a good ST guy. I wouldn't waste our claim on him, but would keep tabs on him if he's still available after waivers

I think TMac and XL are listed as the starters but obviously we will be playing more than 2 WR on most formations so Coker prob is a starter in that aspect.

As long as he is a serious contributor on ST yeah it makes sense to have a guy who can be a third stringer at a few other positions. I don't know anything bout the Packers roster or why he was let go, but we are in a pretty different situation than them

With how weak we are at LB and bad at ST it makes perfect sense. He's a gunner on ST and can flex all over from SS to ILB situationally. It's not like we'd need to let go of a true ILB to make it happen (unless we are looking at someone's cut or a trade).
