  1. Burns didn’t have a down year. He purposely played bad. So not only can he not take over a game, he isn’t going to elevate the team and lead teammates if he feel it doesn’t matter or is worth it for him as an individual player. A business decision he says, so what happens when he’s bad? When the team isn’t going to win? It’s a really poor mindset. It’s not really something you pay to be the face of the defense. No thanks. If they do end up paying him, it will be a regret mark my words.
  2. True but at least Bosa has the ability to take over games in prime time. I don’t think Burns has ever done that…maybe once in garbage time? Maybe for a quarter? Idk
  3. Honestly I think the consensus was being happy with either and just hoping the FO did their diligence (and had the competence) to pick the right one…or one of because both could’ve worked out. I wanted Stroud but wasn’t mad at the pick at the time. A lot of people thought Bryce would get injured as their main reason and well that’s been wrong. However, what have noticed is the media now taking a complete 180. Now all of a sudden his size matters lol Hitting on a franchise QB living up to number 1 overall is incredible difficult and so it is lazy to say he’ll bust and then want everyone to think you’re right and know what you’re talking about it’s dumb. Like I could said that the past 30 years no matter what and be like 90-95% right. Young has hella work ahead of him. For me personally I don’t think his size matters as much as his mental strengths just not translating.
  4. I agree completely, but that’s a testament to Luke imo. Maybe I’m just sour but I feel going to 3-4 did him no favors and possibility contributed to the length of his career or at the least the quality of the tail end. But he’s Luke, he’ll ball out regardless.
  5. I doubt he was fired just for the superbowl, the Lion game defensive plan was putrid. Wilks is just too predictable and considering the talent the 49ers have on defense should’ve done much better. I do think he’s a good coach and would even take him at DC. But he’s predictable, won’t adjust, awful blitz scheming/predictability and he won’t be winning against modern teams that adjust well.
  6. until he went to 3-4 and had Luke headbutting offensive lineman
  7. Wilks showed he will revert back to 90s defense despite going up against a Mahomes/Reid led team…you absolutely can not do that
  8. the saddest part is we’ve seen what they can do with garbage coaches but believe it not they never even hit their peak
  9. how about we just complete a downfield pass first
  10. You’re not going to find a Mahomes. That talent has been seen only a handful of time in the history of the sport. We just need someone competent. Or someone with a ton of potential…you know like Stroud.
  11. Reich was a garbage hire though. In hindsight and with that logic, we should have kept Rhule. Need to compare him to , Reid, Shanahan, Harbaugh etc. No one in their right mind wouldn’t take Wilks as a DC.
  12. Depressing to see coaches, players, and FO personnel moving on from the panthers to be great
  13. Which is not surprising dude. She’s just trying to be supportive regardless. That’s how girlfriends/SOs work.
  14. Dude she probably doesn’t know or care about anything football related. Probably never watched a game before dating him. And how many Swift songs do you think he knows? Lol zero. This is just how these things go. My girl loves to watch football with me but she has no clue what is going on. Ever had a gf?
  15. CMC commented on changing his conditioning to include much more rest and consider the Panthers have some of the most consistent injuries in the league, id argue that staff in inept too, would also makes sense because everyone else in the building is inept speaking of inept, this franchise doesn’t have the brainpower to utilize a modern player like CMC, a trade was due. Unfortunately the franchise also didn’t have the brainpower to get a first for him, not surprisingly
  16. what do the analytics say about firing the director of analytics? guess we’ll never know.
  17. Yep. I actually believe Rhule. There are much better lies to tell. But what’s it matter? poo coach and Purdy would’ve failed here anyways.
  18. Tepper has decades of hardheadedneas over York and outside of football has been successful and wealthy. It’s not the same. I have very little faith Tepper will change in his lifetime. As far as Willks, he’s a good coach but not for HC. But what he’s saying is spot on, and he’s been around enough to be credible in identifying poo ownership.
  19. whenever the huddle offers their takes on HCs I always side with the opposite remember how excited this board was for Rhule? And (albeit less more so) about Reich? remember how this board hated the idea of McCarthy (who isn’t great but let’s compare him with what we ended up with) oh and don’t forget absolutely hating the idea of Reid and his mismanagement of McNabb and how he will fail miserably (I got utterly thrashed here for supporting that idea) yea…I remember lol
  20. Hmmm not sure why everyone cares about him bulking up so much. He’s not a cam type QB. He’s just too small. He could put on 20 lbs of muscle and he still wouldn’t be much better getting away from defenders. I’d like to see him work on quicker decision making first of all and everything that comes with being a cerebral QB. Needs to be played to his strengths. Better speed/navigation but not in a typical sense…more like in a Brees sense and more so due to his stature. but at the end of the day like someone already said, players around him matter a lot so chemistry with them is important to…whoever that may be, we def need some playmakers in here for any chance despite this point guard crap going around
  21. If people can argue Moore is a true 1, Theilen must be at the very least a 2 if not a close true 1, especially with Young. But I somewhat agree on your premises because I believe both a 2s. I think Theilen would absolutely thrive with a true 1 here. But he is getting old so that window is closing if not closed after this season.
  22. Absolutely not. No one is giving anything for him to offset the investment the Panthers did. Even if you’re not trying to offset it, it is not worth a 4th rounder at best to not see if he can turn it around, especially on a rookie contract. The Panthers benefit the most to take the risk and keep him than any other team and see if he can stay healthy.
  23. Well San Fran found their QB during the time the owner went hands off, like literally disappeared from making decisions he wasn’t qualified to make. Tepper needs to stop lobbying for players he has zero clue how to evaluate. That includes not letting his wife have any influence either as she is not qualified in the slightest either. Young is going to get another year like it or not. But if he likely fails it is important the football people get to go get their guy (and other players) without any interference. A lot of that stacked 49er team also came together when the owner cut the poo. It’s hard enough to build a team and find a QB…but it’s important you to let the people you hire prevail or fail on their own merits. Despite the media bullshit, Tepper’s impatience isn’t an issue, it’s his decision making and drastically overestimating his abilities. Much like York’s past.
  24. Been saying this for a while, Tepper is going through almost the same blueprint as the niners. However, two things concern me. One, the fact he is literally making mistakes almost to a ‘T’ that have already been done and made. Ironically thinking he’s doing something smarter than everyone else. And two, more importantly, Tepper is going past the time frame of York to learn those lessons that were already taught long ago. York is one hard headed mofo even after demotions in his past but what we have is a slower, dumber, much older, and even more hard headed version. I foresee it taking Tepper much longer to learn anything.
