I'm pretty sure Grier operated almost exclusively from the shotgun in WVU air raid offense. Whether he was considered a runner is irrelevant in my perspective with regard to their focus on his drop back.

Neither of the backups were known for being drop back QBs and I assume they want Darnold to spend more time in the pocket.

I'm 50/50 myself. In part because the division is in Flux and we were a handful of close games from having a Chance. But the reason I asked is because if we don't view ourselves as becoming a playoff team putting us in the middle of the. Pack of non contenders doesn't seem too crazy considering we didn't fill our three biggest holes with sure things. But yea, I agree the trade conversation is bizarre considering how much we moved around and picked up value later on. Like would he have rated our draftas more of a success if we just traded back in the firdt and took a Lineman?

The team needs a winning season. Until then, it's the same ole Panthers. We gear up every week in anticipation of a win and see how it turns out after the final whistle. Hopefully we move past the one player away from being good phase this year.

All of our QBs have horrible numbers. Is it too much to ask that Huddlers be consistent when deciding who they grade on the curve?

These aren't the stats you want to use considering our QB room as a whole. You guys are as bad as everyone you want to call a troll with your selective moments of clarity.

I don't believe this staff is into the QB competition model. Until we have a solidified QB1 for the future I wouldn't expect us to have a high quality back up on the roster.

For sure. It would be great if he ends up being the exception and not the norm. But for this season all he has to do is look good. Next season playoff win.

The point was clear. Darnold just needs to be good, not hall of fame level. Set realistic expectations when looking for his turn around. You would think after seeing Cam struggle to find MVP form after his injuries or Teddy not turning into something special overnight because of Joe Brady that people would operate in reality.

You're an irrational Darnold fan. I'm a panthers fan. We don't really have much to discuss.

You can hope Darnold turns it around with using outliers like Brees and Young as your goto examples.

We didn't have many receiving touchdowns last year and we lack a tight end. We were also very poor in the red zone. Those have to factor in. Hopefully this year is better in those areas.

Cam will be fine... He's a decade long vet. Why is this an indictment on him and not the guy they drafted in the first round? Nevermind. how about we focus on our own previously terrible QB who we hope turns it around.

I can't be too mad at PFF when I browse this forum and see people saying he isn't better THAN robbie or that he should move to slot next season.

It's BR, but if you look at our predraft commentary here and what eventually happened in the draft his take is fairly logical. Especially with regard to Oline and the uncertainty at the QB position.
