That’s yet another qb for 2023 draft that if he has a good year he is in the mix at the top. The 2023 crop looks like it’s miles ahead of this one.

Some of those picks, like the first one Ward in 2018 were made pre draft for other players. Watkins and Austin look like legit trade up for specific players

If the panthers like Pickett they are not going to risk trading back 5-10 spots for extra capital. They will simply pick him without gambling. Also what you are not factoring is that teams rarely trade up into the top 6ish for a non qb. When was the last time it happened? And even if someone fell in love with someone say Ikem I doubt they give us fair value to move back.

Pickett would be on IR by week 5. Draft oline roll darnold out. Let him take the beating and get a top 5 qb next draft. This isnt fuging rocket science. Rolling any rookie out there to start behind this line is insanity and will probably ruin them after a couple of seasons.

good point, although I am so fuging over trying to use free agency to bolster our line. IT DOESNT fuging WORK. How many more years of data do they need to understand this? The best way to get a kick ass top 10 line is organically which means spending draft capital on picks and let them develop chemistry with each other instead of signing fug offs like Kalial, Irving, Paradis etc. Use free agency for back ups

If BC can play LT then that allows us to get either the Iowa center or the kid from NCSU and just like that the line is upgraded QB comes next year. I dont want this lame duck coaching staff anywhere near our next qb. Next years class looks loaded and this one is kindof meh

***Full disclosure- I havent seen cross this year but only read his scouting reports which seem really good If he is a 10 year plug and play a la Slater then fuging draft him at 6 and stop being fuging cute with trading down. Bite the GD bullet and draft. Suck up the lost 2nd and learn from it. Dont try and trade back for peanuts to just absorb a loss.

His mechanics and decision making are really really bad. Its going to take a lot of work for a 1rst rounder to turn him around.
