Darnold part of the draft day strategy
mrcompletely11 replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess you can at least argue Fields but if he does drop then the value of pick 8 probably close to doubles what it normally would be. I would make Denver throw in their 1rst and maybe 2nd to move up one spot. -

I've said all week that its brutally apparent that the staff doesnt want to invest the ungodly time in trying to develop Lance. Its going to take years to get him up and running and seeing how Brady probably will be gone in the very near future, its just not worth it no matter the upside. -

You think. But we definitely without any reasonable doubt select a LT at 8. Why continue to kick the can down the road? And we aint drafting Lance at 8 -
So I get the 2022 2nd and 4rth pick. But what does the 6th this year do? Its basically a worthless selection. Why even throw that in?

How is Penei Sewell at 8 only a B+ in that draft? Shouldnt that be an A+++++++

My dream draft

I doubt he slips by ATL, Cincy and Miami. Pray its a qb heavy draft with trade ups, pray the skill positions go early (chase and Pitts) and maybe we get lucky Sewell drops to us

Lot of dumb newbs coming out of the woodwork

Who was he throwing to? Who was calling plays? Who was blocking for him? Context matters

Sam Darnold has had 56 different starting olinemen in his 3 years. Good Lord I actually feel bad for this kid. He had no way of succeeding

keep digging, this is getting comical now

PFF grade on throws past first read since 2019

Also saying bridgewater was better without looking at the oline and weapons and scheme is just lazy -
Would you rather trade a couple of firsts to move up from Lance or Fields? Darnold had weird injuries, terrible coaching, terrible oline, terrible weapons and thrown straight to the wolves at the age of 20 from the jump with no acclimation period. I think a fresh start is going to be just what he needs

He only had a clean pocket on 23 attempts, so that initial statement is a bit overstated

This is a great post. I just think Lance has to go to a team that has a clear plan for him. His lack of reps and game experience is going to be really hard to overcome. 2-3 year project at best. I guess the staff figured we didnt have the time or stomach to figure that out -

If/when a qb falls and we can finagle a 2nd out of Denver to switch spots then Fit is playing next level chess -
One thing I havent read on here but maybe its been discussed. But if there is some chance we win 9+ games with SD than we can kiss Brady bye bye
