UDFA is one way to pick the team you want to go to I guess.

Round 4 - Panthers draft Trevor Etienne RB UGA
Seamonk replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea was figuring we'd take a depth RB from the 4th onwards. Rico on a 1-year deal, Blackshear on a 1-year deal. Brooks is injured. Long term cheap depth from the draft -
PFF: The Carolina Panthers are having an ELITE draft…
Seamonk replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
BPA would definitely be a per-team affair, it's not just best talent/best athlete/best stats player. I'd probably argue they score it using something like... Talent rating x team fit rating x positional importance (not need) x character rating something along those lines.. Obviously each team would evaluate those things to what they believe their scouts/sources/coaches to perceive. If your scheme values a tight end higher, you would have a higher positional importance on the tight end to a team that doesn't really use the tight end much, etc. the other thing to consider during the draft is the talent level is not based on the rounds they're picked in, but their own self evaluated tiers and drop off points. I.e. DJ Johnson, they most definitely reached. The reason being, it's possible they evaluated and thought the drop off to the next prospect on their board was probably too much and as we know, Edge is positionally important. BPA is a general rule of thumb during the draft when drafting for value, but other things can influence that year to year. -
I think if you're a dominant running the ball team, you need a #1 WR or another threat on offense. That's to stop defenses from keying in and keep them unbalanced. It really comes down to the amount of quality ways you are able to get the ball to people who can move the chains, or better yet, become "playmakers".

Did Bryce Young have any tipped balls at the LOS??
Seamonk replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
His footwork in the pocket has improved, he's using his eyes more down field to move defenders and he's challenging defenses more with his legs so dlineman can't put their hands up and lose leverage as much anymore. I feel like he was afraid or coached not to run last year or schematically put in back positions where he didnt have flexibility in the pocket (majority of snaps in shotgun, bad run schemes) -
I've heard Canales mention that he wants a defense that can get Turnovers and be aggressive. Evero's defense is not that by design. It's a bend don't break that limits yardage but as we've seen this year and even last year, doesn't necessarily mean we're a good scoring defense. I want a more aggressive defense that teams fear. Our best defenses were FEARED. Aint nobody fearing an Evero defense If Evero does end up leaving, I imagine that's the type of D Coord we'd get.

the draft is both predictable and unpredictable. a lot can change from now until april. undisclosed injuries discovered, measurables not living up, deeper tape study on these prospects. Every year some guys move up the ladder and go down. so anything is possible!

Their playoff hopes got the pink slip

He was awful, but at the same time based on what ive seen and his mentality, he looks like he's gonna learn from this. Seems like he's also trying a lot of stuff while we don't really have the roster to compete for playoffs.

I mean we're not a good team but at least the offense is watchable. Looking forward to seeing some of the young guys get coached up throughout the season. This team is not a 1 season fix. But at least we're looking more competitive than week 1. -

Kinda expected this tbh. Our d is not very good. No pass rush. No safeties. Our Cornerbacks are our best unit and they can't cover for the amount of time our pass rush gives any decent team. Our O gotta play aggressive because our D can't do jack. -

Good low risk rep for XL for 2pt. -
Some part of me thinks Canales stayed up all night collecting definitive evidence to show Dipper everything that needed to be known about benching Bryce and proving it's a Bryce problem and not a scheme or personnel problem.

Some of y'all have an image of Justin Fields that I just don't see I guess. He hasn't really done anything extraordinary other than be a QB we didn't draft. If he were putting up CJ Stroud level of numbers and leading the Bears to the playoffs then I'd get it.. But he's been on an equally abysmal team who has drafted just as poorly. Just don't see how he could elevate us when he couldn't elevate the Bears.

From the looks of it, both of our coordinators will be gone in 2 years with how hot they are on the rise. It will be a true testament to see if Frank Reich can prove himself to be Belichick and Andy Reid vs Ron Rivera in that regard.
