Wilks isn’t getting the job. Accept it.

The fact that Panthers may be looking to fill a coordinator role in DC makes me think there may already be an agreement and the interview is a formality.

Is Sean Payton a good enough coach to prevent the Chargers from Chargering? Since he choked in the playoffs from 2017 to 2021. Now that I think about it the LA Chokers and Coach Choker are perfect for each other.

Feels like a "Game is too big" moment. Learning moment that hopefully he can improve on. Unlike Jake this isn't on the twilight of Lawrence's career.

Lawrence chose a bad day to have a bad day. Really he looks awful. Good lord. Pederson needs to get with him and calm him down.

Where can I read it?

I don't follow college so I go by what I see in articles and highlights and forums. So I have no idea. Not gonna speak on a subject I know little about. Just noticing the trend of the last 3 years we've been looking for a QB. Looks like a QB heavy draft>College Season Begins>College QBs play like College QBs>No QB in this draft is worth a top 10 pick except one or two guys>Panthers don't draft a QB. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum. As I said, I guarantee most of the QBs coming out next year over half will be declared not first round material. Because it happens every year. That is why I am not gonna say Drake Maye, for example, is first round material. Howell was first round material until his last year in college and that year nose dived his draft stock into the 5th round.

Maybe whoever we hire will get the most out of whatever JAG we get at QB, if we don’t draft a QB. Then we move up next year, maybe? We aren’t getting Carr. Too expensive and IMO he is mid and not worth the money.

I guarantee you 3/4 of that list will be deemed "Not worth a first round pick". Seems to have been the same song and dance every season.

I prefer to wait for #QB2025 or #QB2026. Gotta keep kicking that QB can down the road. It is the Way.

Remember when this was supposed to be a really rich QB draft? Well maybe next year or next year or next year or next year? We know what is gonna happen next year, a supposedly rich QB draft again, then college season will begin and the all of a sudden we will go from a QB rich draft to no one is worth a 1st round pick except maybe that one guy. Every single year it is the exact same thing. We are never gonna solve our QB problem are we? Main reason I can never be excited for us to possibly make the playoffs. Because the person behind center is a continued liability. QB purgatory. I hate it.

Why is several media people all of a sudden concentrating on the LB coach of the Patriots for HC that no one has ever heard of and he is acting like he is an emerging potential top choice. All indications is Tepper wants a OC as coach and the only DC I would accept is Ryan’s. Also when has a Patriots coach ever made a good HC?

Yes but was he a short order cook that is the important question. We better not go after these coaches no one has ever heard of.

It was that great the one year he was DC for us and Arizona’s defense was atrocious and he was terrible in college and the team got better when he left. He just isn’t a very good DC.

I think the final 3 will be Johnson, Steichen and Kafka, personally.

Now what if the Ryan is like McDermott. Able to consistently build a good offensive staff while also being able to concentrate and build a good defensive staff that is his bread and butter. All we have on Wilks is that one year in Arizona and both his offensive and defensive staff was terrible. Now I now that Wilks, allegedly, didn’t get to choose his OC, but his DC was Holcomb and the Arizona defense was just so, so bad. I say all that to say this. Ryan maybe able to build a good staff. While Wilks is batting 0-1 on building a good staff. It is all speculation it I’d rather give Ryan a chance over Wilks. Because I think Ryan will likely be more modern and Wilks will just be old fashioned and conservative.

If the media had their way they would only hire people that made them feel good and were a good story.

Lamar Jackson has not been able to finish the past two season and it looks like he probably won’t play this weekend. So I say pass. His body just isn’t capable of standing up to the way he plays QB anymore. So unfortunately, I say pass.

Well it did once, Jeff Fisher. But that was back in the 90s. So once in the Super Bowl era is, looks at notes, a really effing low chance of success. Plus, and I can’t believe more people haven’t brought this up, hiring Wilks would be like hiring a college coach all over again because both college and interim HC success is very low and Tepper would be saying that he hired Wilks because he thinks he can be the one to hire the next Jeff Fisher. Doing literally the exact same thing he did with Rhule. I am hoping Tepper knows this.

Why? Guy doesn’t have the job.

Kafka sounds like a Final Fantasy villain. Like maybe a crazy clown. So I approve.

This board is gonna be filled with people complaining about Wilks just like Rivera. They will be complaining about the exact same things. It will be a blast from the past. 3 years ago.
