Tepper clearly wants to change the Panthers identity

Talk. All that is. Heard enough of that when Rivera was head coach. Wilks losses this year proved he didn’t learn. -

One season 3-13. That isn’t experience you want to have in your potential head coach. -

Jeff Fisher, but that was the only one, and it was over 20 years ago. All the rest had limited playoff success, if that, but Fisher is the only one to actually make the Super Bowl. So if Tepper hired Wilks he would pretty much be doing the same thing he did when hiring Rhule. Hoping that Wilks is the exception not the rule. But there has only been one exception. -

2 or maybe 1. Wilks may be a one and done coach again and that would be hilarious. -

Only because the NFC south was so bad in 2014. Color me unimpressed. Also Rons ass was carried. No one to carry Wilks ass. -

If we get Steichen or Johnson I will feel a little bit better about Tepper. But just a little. -
Hackett wasn’t good before he was hired. He had Rodgers the one year he was good.
-
Definitely has a higher success rate though if the amount of HC OCs in the playoffs mean anything.
-
Wasn’t that the season that started the trend of us consistently giving up 3rd and long plays?
-
LoL. Players trying to keep him on the team. Sorry boys. It is what happens when your OC impresses.

Scott Fowler Observer column on coaching hire

That is probably the stupidest sentence I have ever read. I hate you for making me read it. May god have mercy on your soul. -
Wilks / Fitterer Season Ending Presser

I assumed QB isn’t mentioned because it is a given at this point it is the off-season biggest need. -

What build? You are making assumption that Wilks is some genius who is gonna build a contender in one season. He won’t. -

Every local media person is right now. -

How does Scott know this? Because history says that Wilks will have little to no success once the tag is removed. These media people are making a lot of assumptions about how successful the Panthers will be under Wilks. I think at best we will be a .500 team that occasionally kicks into the playoffs. Wills has not talent of this team, especially at QB, to carry his butt. -
Wilks / Fitterer Season Ending Presser

Never disliked Wilks the man, just never liked Wilks the coach. Player coaches tend to not have much success unless somehow the talent around him drags him to it. He already said his isn’t really a strategist. Usually success is sporadic. A playoffs birth every few years, and maybe, just maybe a Super Bowl birth. Yeah I still blame Rivera for Super Bowl 50 and not adjusting or doing anything to help Cam. -
Wilks / Fitterer Season Ending Presser

Sounds like he has not plans for anymore interviews after tomorrows possible one. “Want to get away” sounds like he knows his chances of getting the job are low. -

STEVE WILKS - FINAL POLL THREAD
TLGPanthersFan replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Both never won back to back seasons and were pretty much carried to success by talent. No I don’t want that. I want consistency. -
Texans are gonna have a hard time finding someone they want with two one year coaches in a row.
-
A lot of assumptions that only work if Wilks got the job. He hasn’t and he will not.
-
Wonder if that will come up in the interview? Wonder if Tepper and Fitt will actually acknowledge the defense is worse and that Holcomb will not be the DC?
-
You Darnold apologists really are a new bread of pathetic.
