  1. Pretty much this. We traded for him based on potential and treated him with kid gloves in the pre-season as Sean Ryan tried to rework Darnold's footwork and processing. Come the regular season we put him behind an OLine that let the opposing defence cave his head in. He ended up with a concussion and a fractured shoulder blade. Now it seems we're incredibly keen to move on from him - with the kicker being that the new QB is going to have a competent OLine infront of him, which is just cruel. In my opinion the #6 pick should be spent on continuing to improve that OLine with a LT and we should draft a QB on Day 3, or pick up a Dalton / Fitzpatrick / Smith in FA to bolster the QB room. We can't go into the new season with PJ Walker as the backup, he's terrible. You're already paying Darnold $18m this year - and you're not in a position to pick up a significant upgrade without overdrafting / trading away valuable resources. Put him behind a good OLine and play out the season - if he's still terrible then there's 3 QBs you can target next year in the Draft (along with the usual QB carousel in FA) - either way that LT at #6 pays dividends.
  2. It's been that way for him since HS. He was a massively heralded recruit at the time.
  3. That's never a consideration for me when trying to draft a franchise LT in the Top 10.
  4. I'm sure this is just your usual shitposting, but if it's true then I'm afraid everyone's gotta go. Rhule, Fitterer, Morgan, Suleiman. Gone.
  5. Watson upset billionaires with his demands to help pick the new HC. His sexual deviancy would never have seen the light of day otherwise. They absolutely knew about it all along.
  6. Does Andrew Berry get another job in football if Watson is prosecuted? I think not.
  7. We ain't that desperate. Rhule will literally lose his job if he spends a Top 10 pick on a career back up.
  8. Genuinely nothing but respect for Simms. Toughest mofo I've ever seen play against us. Dude nearly died on the field.
  9. It's why Saban failed in the NFL too - the dictatorial stance they can take in College doesn't work with millionaires.
  10. Why are we forced to take 2nd / 3rd round quality QBs in the 1st round?
  11. It's an entirely different crew - Brady is the QB Coach (snorts) in Buffalo now.
  12. Yes and no. I'd be ok with a trade down, but if we can get a plug and play cornerstone LT at #6 idgaf that we're not picking again until Sunday evening.
  13. I saw him get a concussion and a fractured shoulder blade.
  14. It's hard to feel too bad for Darnold, on his bed of money, but we've done him dirty if we draft a QB at #6 and pick up say Brown to play LT (and pair him with Corbett and Bozeman). The zealots will see it as confirmation that Darnold sucked - but to me they'd be setting up the new QB for success after setting Darnold up for failure behind that OLine last year.
  15. Anyone who thinks he had a chance behind that OLine is a moron.
  16. My concerns with Corral are a) his history and b) that offence is RPO (and SRPO) heavy. That won't fly in the NFL. In terms of physicality / arm talent / athleticism - he's the best QB in the Draft by a distance.
  17. We're barely mentioned in that story "Oh yeah, the Panthers were in the running too." Brutal - but I'm delighted he's gone elsewhere.
  18. Who is Jon M Alexander and how does he know that?
  19. Still think it was a good trade - they left him out to dry with that OLine in 2021.
  20. Sam Darnold. I hate the rest of the QB room though so I'd look at adding someone like Carson Strong later in the Draft (assuming he can be had on Day 3).
  21. Bo Nix... the QB that transferred to Oregon?
  22. There's a play where he made Peppers look mortal - just juked him out of his shoes.
  23. This will get me crucified on here - but like Newton he was the best athlete on the field, but not always the best QB. Neither fulfilled their enormous potential.
