Rhule handpicked Brady. These issues with situational playcalling didn't just come up this week. He can't go to his oc and tell him "okay no more of that this is what we are going to do here are some pointers"? I'm not on the fire Rhule train but the first season we heard quite a bit about how they share a philosophy. If there is an issue correct it and if your coordinator can't or won't why is he still here? Some of this reasoning sounds like the days of Ron Rivera throwing his own coordinators under the bus. In the end the buck stops with the head honcho and that isn't Brady.

You can be optimistic and the most loyal Panthers fan but the 3rd qtr numbers are just comically bad at this point with no signs of changing. That's the kind of stuff that will get a coaching staff sent packing.

I have some optimism about our offense with Cam and CMC but any playoff team we face is going to give our defense fits just like WFT today. We will not defeat good teams with that effort.

Right I mean two things can be true simultaneously like Joe Brady is in over his head and our oline is still not anywhere near what it should be. Most agree we need to look at OC options moving forward but we also need to shift investment priorities. We can't have Joe Brady fall on his sword and expect a real NFL caliber offensive coordinator to be in a big hurry to clean this up if we are still dedicating the majority of our resources to defense.

Ok I stand corrected I forgot about the "Sam Newton" game. You do realize that was the game where the staff became very clearly afraid of Sam throwing the ball right? And since that one off performance this is the first time in 7 weeks a qb has had that many touchdowns.

We had the worst starting qb in the league before last week and the defense was still making plays more often than not. If there are "holes to fill" that is on the decision makers who invested an entire draft and back to back first rounders on the defense the last two years while making multiple trades for that side of the ball recently too. This team has had a defensive identity for as long as anyone can remember and we expected miracles from the same qb today for a decade. It's well past time for a real offensive identity. We were supposed to get that after moving on from Rivera but we're back to the same old story.

What are you even doing? This was the first game all season a Panthers qb had 3 touchdowns. That's how low the bar was for Newton coming into this situation taking over after Darnold.

Joe Brady deserves flack but it was the defense that has seen back to back first round picks an entire draft in 2020 and trades for multiple corners. You can do whatever you want with Joe but the philosophy has to change with it.

This game wasn't lost in one play. Our defense couldn't stop anyone and the offense couldn't finish even though they were the reason we were even in it. Why show your ass?
