  1. And after all that couldn't muster a single yard on a 4th and 1 down multiple scores.
  2. I remember people comparing him to Goff saying that was his ceiling but then turning around and comparing Young to Brees.
  3. Bryce Young over CJ Stroud is like Blaine Gabbert over Cam Newton. Unforgiveable incompetence.
  4. The process is led heavily by analytics which was introduced when Tepper bought the team. Which is when we went from mediocre to decent drafts to absolute dogshit. As for the scouts. My feeling on it is if they are still here making money they must be just telling Tepper what he wants to hear. Which is certainly a necessary prerequisite to working for the Carolina Panthers. Those who don't fall in line peace out. Hence the high turnover.
  5. People rationalizing this as normal are just doing Tepper's bidding. No it isn't normal for the owner to meet with the head coach multiple times a week. The same owner is on damn near every single draft call each year too. All he does is meddle. This is also the same owner that held a press conference where he did all the talking and only made things worse after firing Frank Reich. The Tepper's are the first second and third immediate problem with this ailing sports franchise. Everything else is just a ripple effect.
  6. We sucked at drafting with Rhule Fitterer and so far Morgan too. One common thread remains. Tepper is involved and hands on in the process. Why else keep the scouts through all this league worst suck?
  7. The "we got rid of a locker room problem" angle is moot because we knew what he was when we traded for him. Even random Steelers fans came here telling us he was basically a headcase. We paid this guy to leave that's how bad it was. People can take the cope route after this move and rejoice Johnson is gone but the real problem remains. Morgan is throwing poo at the wall no different than Fitterer did. And he's got David Tepper in his ear dictating to him what to do just like he did with Scott.
  8. You can definitely tell Dan Morgan worked closely with Scott Fitterer right?
  9. There's a reason Pittsburgh gave him away for literally almost nothing and why their offense is not only doing fine but better. Dan pulled a Fitterer desperation move for a known locker room problem and this is what happens.
  10. Please someone tell me more about how qualified Dan Morgan is because so far a huddler could do what he's done.
  11. 5th is what I expected but to also send a 6th? Geesh. Can you guys stop polishing Morgan's knob already now?
  12. Yup dude is delusional. Good luck to him though!
  13. If we can swing a 4th for Diontae I'll be very pleasantly surprised. 5th seems like the best return given what other players have been going for.
  14. Apparently PFF wasn't swayed by garbage time stats in the fourth quarter down 3 possessions. Clearly they are just biased.
  15. Right? Good thing we didn't keep the draft scouting staff completely intact and hire his best friend to be the new GM!
  16. The Browns have like a quarter billion dollars tied up in one QB who sucks and still managed to end up with a better QB room than the Panthers.
  17. LOVE seeing the Bears getting humbled.
  18. I hear you. But most of the time I can generally decipher these kinds of posts. It's a message board after all. His point does have some merit though. The Panthers invested an insane amount of money into the interior of the OL and we traded up with our first two draft picks to select offensive players and Canales absolutely had input in all that. So the complaints about the defense ultimately land on both Morgan and Canales because they made their bed. But despite all that investment in the offense to the direct detriment of the defense we are 29th in points per game and 29th in yards per game. Canales is running out of excuses. Next year we need to see definitive tangible improvement or both he and Morgan should be on the chopping block.
  19. The biggest thing that bothers me with Canales is he is regularly getting outcoached and we specifically hired him for his offensive prowess. On the flip side while he is being outcoached on his side of the ball there is lack of accountability on the defensive side of the ball and it isn't getting resolved because Canales is hands off. Evero at this point seems to be begging for the Panthers to fire him. On the whole I don't think Canales is a very good head coach. The very good young head coaches have their teams prepared in all phases. Canales barely has the one phase that is supposed to be his bread and better prepared on gamedays let alone the rest. All the positive vibes and throwing rays of sunshine have worn off. The new car smell is gone. I cannot at this point say he is a clear upgrade over Matt Rhule. And I do not like acknowledging that. But as for right now it would be best to see what transpires in 2025 and if things aren't improving then Canales and Morgan are fired together. The last thing we should want to do is hire yet another head coach and force a GM on them who might end up getting canned anyways. But regardless. The honeymoon is over and the gloves are off now.
  20. Probably. Only Panthers fans are performing mental gymnastics over this game. I mean at least the Kyle Allen foolishness was a result of him actually playing pretty well over the course of a few entire games. This is like if Kyle Allen was largely dogshit over the course of an entire season plus 3 more starts but capped off the last start with a garbage time touchdown drive. The cope is wild.
