  1. Maybe she saw this This would be the best catch OAT#nfl #football #edit #shorts #carolinapanthers
  2. Well, I thought last season if we good get 4 or 5 wins and show improvement at the end of the season and especially from BY then I would be happy and I believe we got all of those things. The BY improvement was actually more than I expected so this season my hopes are up a little higher and I'm feeling more positive about us going in. However I agree with you that we're a year a way realistically even though in our weak division we could sneak in but wouldn't really deserve to be there yet. For me, I would be happy with at least 6 wins but more important than the W/L record this season is the overall state of the team and BY's progress. If BY can have a full season looking like he belongs in the NFL, our defense starts to look like an NFL defense with progress made especially against the run and we see 2 or 3 draft picks from 24 look like they have an NFL career and flashes from the 25 class I'll consider it a huge success.
  3. I agree. You can see certain characteristics being similar in these players. They are definitely putting value of players characters and not just their football skills and athleticisms. As Morgan says, players who love the game.
  4. He's the one they were saying was standing out at mini camp this weekend, right? I remember them talking about a player whose name I didn't recognize. I'm pretty sure it was him.
  5. I swear, I could feel is positivity and enthusiasm coming out of my computer during this interview. With many players at this stage I can say I see it or he looks to be but with him >>I could literally FEEL it. Not in his words or tone or anything like that. It was just his body language and facial expressions when he speaks. These new guys are cool. I know Morgan and Canales and talked about looking for certain types of players to build a culture here, that "dawg" mentality, a.k.a guys who love football and everyone says that every year for every team more or less but I can honestly say though that I'm starting to see some patterns forming now with this second class coming in. For me, the term "dawg" mentality, although colloquial in our culture at the moment maybe isn't a good description of these guys. Dogs tend to bark and make a lot of noise and put on a big show. Our young players have more of a quiet, low key mentality. I see it more as a "kat" mentality which is better fitting since we are the Panthers after all. They seem like they're ready to start sharpening their claws and strike when you're not ready for it. They also seem to going for more of a committee approach to most positions much like what a lot of teams do at RB. Where you don't really have first string or second string like it used to me. You have players who can play positions but in different ways so that depth becomes more important as all are expected to contribute in different packages and do different things. Our RBs, and TEs will be rotational and used in different way to fit their skillsets and the packages the play is in. The WRs will very likely play out of different roles. Flowing between X,Y, Z etc. depending on packages and game plans etc. Our defense is looking like it will be done in the same way too, especially among the front 7 + a safety. I like it. Instead of having 1 guy who plays most every down in a position we have guys who play roles at most positions in different ways. Allows for a lot of flexibility.
  6. I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that. His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
  7. Coker came to Carolina because we offered him more money. Players usually want to make more money but it's okay, if hating makes you happier than you do you. I personally see it as the easy way out. We'll know who was right soon enough.
  8. Do they play for another team? Are they competing for positions on any not named Carolina? That's like saying if a potato were a fruit it wouldn't be considered good.
  9. I don't know about him in the nfl. He got sacked 94 times in TWO seasons. If he does anything close to that in the nfl he won't make through a season. It's hard to win the job from you back.
  10. Lol, you tell me i'm wrong while saying legette, coker, sanders, smith-wade and maybe wallace will be starters. You basically say i'm right while telling me i'm wrong. good job. thanks
  11. I still think it's too soon to say last year's draft was bad. I think those who do are the eternal pessimists. We had 4 players who contributed last season. Two were starters. It's possible all 4 are starters this season. How is that a bad draft? I know it's because our roster was so bad but still, they are on this roster so it's the only one that counts. Before I say it's a bad draft I prefer to wait and see how they play this season. It's possible we may have FIVE starters from that draft playing the season. Anyone who thinks drafting 5 starters by season two is a bad draft should visit a psychiatrist where they can get a prescription to help them live happier lives. I'm not saying it was a success yet but I damn sure ain't calling it a failure yet. Most players don't make it. Most of those who do need a little time. One season isn't enough time which is why they are still on the team Leggete, Coker (UDFA but still we got him), Sanders, Smith-Wade and Wallace all showed promise last season. If they all take a step forward then it was a great draft. If only 1 does than it was an average draft. If they regress then and only then will I say it was a bad draft. Fans often have unreasonable expectations compared to the reality of draft results. I believe this draft will shine as I think it's going to better due to the depth of the class but I also believe we will look back at 2024 and say that was a good class too. I think we have 5 players from that class who will be starters or rotational pieces for the next couple of years at least. That's a win.
  12. That's a big ass center! Is there any center in the NFL that weighs 320 lbs? Also, we drafted a center last season. Not sure this guy is a center even if he took reps at the senior bowl. Looks like a guard to me unless his build is better suited to a lesser weight. In a zone scheme centers need to be able to move quickly. I just googled it and in 2023 the average was 306 lbs but the heaviest was 336 lbs so i guess it's possible.
  13. I didn't know about this connection so that definitely makes sense. If we do well then it will bode well for others at PFF too I think so they should definitely be rooting for us now. That's cool too though. Lot's of fans follow PFF so it could raise other's opinions about us as well. I don't care so much what others think but it could bring other benefits like people actually knowing something about our team before dissing us or maybe even dissing us less. I've always felt the Panthers were disrespected beyond just saying we're a bad team. There are historically worse teams that aren't treated as badly.
  14. That's the other sneaky thing we did during the pre draft, There were articles saying that we were the most aggressive team looking to trad back and yet we turned down 2 offers that didn't have us moving down that far, Especially the SF one so much like who are pick would be at 8 but we also had little intention if any really at all of trading down but we didn't want anyone to know we were really high on any player so no one tried to jump ahead of us, If the Niners and Rams knew we were going to draft Tmac they might have tried to jump in front of us for him instead of trading with us for him. By the time they realized he was our guy it was too late. Dan and Dave played the first round super smooth. Nobody knew what we wanted to do and the teams that wanted Tmac paid the price. That's high level draft work there.
  15. I feel much better about this draft than I did after last year's draft. I'm not sure if it's because I went into this draft with a different mindset than I have in previous years or it's because read their draft guide and I could put each pick into a perspective but I don't think so. Every year there are always players that I really don't feel enthusiastic about. Usually is the super athletic guys that get drafted because they won the underwear Olympics but we didn0t do that this time. Each player has performed well on the field at something that we need. I like that approach. Most guys won't become elite players but we don't need that. We just need player who are really good at these different things but that don't have to be the same player. When we want to rush from this side we use the player who does that well. Then on the next play we want to stop the run on this side so we play better than average level and not try to find the players who maybe can do everything we every pick. It's the the RB by committee approach but at other positions and it makes sense IF you have the depth to do it. How do you get the depth to do it? By drafting players who you are sure can do at least 1 of these things at a high level.
  16. This came out 6 hours ago. I watched the draft on the PFF stream and I kept adding their comments about picks here during the draft when people were still taking everything in and getting upset about some of these picks because they weren't who most people were wanting at the time and even during the draft every pick they were saying how great it was. Now in this recap they continue their praise. The host thinks all of these picks can contribute for us immediately and our team just got much better. It's a fun watch because as a panther fan, I like all of you am not used to having such praise fall upon our Panthers. There were no buts or good player but a reach, bad value nothing. It's 100% this draft rocked for Panthers. Enjoy.
  17. Also, one last thing. Our off season moves on defense will have a huge impact coupled with our draft picks there. I believe in Evero. He's proven his defense can be good and it's an evolution of Fangio's defense so we know it can work but it needs the right type of players and we made big strides in that direction. It's still behind the offense at this point I think but I expect major improvement on that side of the ball as well.
  18. I've never read this many positive posts in a row, after a draft before around here. Thanks guys for all of your wonderful posts. I'm starting to feel a sense of community around here. I like it. I thought the draft was great overall. I'm sure a couple won't pan out and maybe a couple of more won't stay with us long term that's the way it goes but this draft makes a ton of sense to me and I like what we did with what we had. I'm actually impressed with this draft. We faked everyone with our first pick. We traded up for practically free on day 2. No one we drafted stands out as a reach to me. The day 3 picks, very player does at least 2 things well at their position and to me that makes them more likely to be at least depth pieces and if that happens than this will be the best draft in our history. We're loaded with young offensive weapons now. If we can continue to be patient and let these guys grow and develop we have the potential makings of an organization here. I believe in Canales and I'm starting to think management gets it now too. I didn't hear from Teppers and our GM is a stone cold bad ass and says nothing. I'm loving it.
  19. I think we valued a true X receiver and they think they found him. If he works out this may be one of our best picks in a long time. I'm excited to see what he brings to our offense. If Bryce can start this season like he finished last year's then I expect to see this young group take a step up.. I like the rb pick too. We need someone behind Chuba and someone similar is smart I think. ST ability definitely adds value. I was so sure we were going defense and at the end maybe a tackle but WR surprised me but I get it. After he was picked and started paying attention to him and now I really get. They think they may finally have a true X receiver with him and they're going for it. I'm cool with that. Play to win or stay home. That starts at the top and I'm not crowning them yet but I'm happy as heck that I can see they're trying and have a plan. That alone has me excited. I think they can turn this team around now.
  20. and Cleveland was having such a great draft. This is boom or bust for sure and more qb drama in Cleveland? Yikes. If he's cool and works out they will look like geniuses but if it doesnt?.... They will look like the Cleveland Browns I guess.
  21. Lol, omg they look like they want to puke. Especially the guy on the right.
  22. They pass on him at the top of the draft, made a great trade and still drafted him in the 5th. Wow.
