  1. It was mutually beneficial for both teams to get the deal done early. Us so that we know our QB option and have time to replace DJ, and them so they can strategize for the draft knowing where they pick, and they can enter FA knowing they don’t need to pursue a WR1
  2. You act like an early move can’t be mutually advantageous.
  3. The replies to this tweet, and Twitter in general, are all saying that we got absolutely fleeced.
  4. If he's serious about wanting to go to a contender, then that ain't us yet. Granted every FA says they want to go to a contender, but some are swayed when the money comes talking.
  5. First, technically it would be trading away two years of first round picks, as we'd be receiving back a first round pick this year. Second, you assume the Bears can accurately grade a QB, and would overcome their sunk-cost fallacy and make the "logical" decision to move on from Fields. Third, it's not about how good the prospects actually are, it's how NFL teams perceive how good they are. Caleb Williams may be the next Mahomes, or he may be the next Zach Wilson. But if teams perceive that he's the next Mahomes, then that top pick is not going to be for sale, regardless of how good he actually ends up being. There's no perception with this class that there's a Manning/Luck/Lawrence prospect, which is why the pick is being talked about as up for grabs.
  6. Lmao you know he was referring to Trubisky not Fields.
  7. To me he's got Joe Webb written all over him.
  8. If we stay at 9 we'll have to make do with the leftovers of teams who got to pick better QBs. I'd get comfortable with the idea of the Panthers trading up because it's looking close to certain it will happen.
  9. Young will accomplish more on his rookie contract than Hooker will in his entire career.
  10. we've got 49 days left, which is about the same number of trade scenarios to hypothesize about, and the same number of QBs we'll be linked to.
  11. Oh I see what you're saying now. All the more reason to move up to 1
  12. I'd argue Wilson has suffered a worse NFL career so far. He's trending towards being out of the league by the time his rookie contract is up.
  13. I'd say it's an incorrect assertion to equate how a person feels about trading up/standing pat in the draft with how they run their personal finances. The NFL is a league that has proven time and time again that going with the "safe" option gets you nowhere. I understand you have a pathological aversion to using future draft capital to move up, but sometimes you must, as they say, "risk it for the biscuit".
  14. They moved from 12th to 3rd for 3 firsts (counting their pick at 12) and a 3rd. That seems to be on par with what it would likely cost for us to move from 9 to 1.
  15. QBs have gone 1,2,3 in 1971, 1999, and 2021. 2021 was Lawrence, Wilson, Lance 1,2,3. Source: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2021-nfl-draft-becomes-third-where-qbs-went-1-2-3-heres-a-look-at-the-other-two-and-how-each-qb-fared/
  16. This is not answering your question at all, but it's Charlotteans. Shar-luh-tee-ins. So really it's even closer to charlatans than what you said lol.
  17. Because just about everyone and their brother is speculating that this is the case? Lol.
  18. Of course you see it that way, because you're desperate for Corral to work out. But I fear he will join the list of QBs to whom you've given the kiss of death.
  19. Y'all the video is about rumors he heard at the combine, and he said he doesn't know if they're accurate or not.
