I get what you're saying, and to a large extent I agree, but I'm not sure what our #1 overall pick is supposed to do when good/great throws are hitting WRs/TEs in the hands and they're dropping them. That's been the state of things these last 3-4 weeks. I'm not sure why you're on this crusade to defend every player on this team not named Bryce Young from criticism as if Bryce is the one and only problem on this team.

This franchise has a pathological aversion to drafting/signing Clemson players. Never drafted one, and the signings are once in a blue moon, and they're never high profile guys.

I think the issue is that the yardage that Bryce is averaging is not indicative of sustained success, which makes the last two wins look like flukes, rather than a trend. A win is better for building morale and establishing a winning culture, but if you're purely trying to evaluate if your QB is the guy, then a 300 yard game, even if it's a loss, is more helpful than a 150 yard game that happened to be a win. And to answer your question, I think you've gotta average a lot more YPG than 117, Bryce's current average, for the yardage to be no longer an issue. You could double his YPG and it'd still just put him at 14th in the league.

I feel like I'm going insane when I hear basically anyone related to the NFL outside of Carolina talk about how good Burns is. The commentators during this last game were gushing all over him, and indirectly implying that the Panthers were fools to let him go. It's infuriating that he gets away with only having one or two above average plays per game, and he gets called elite for it. Oh well, not our problem anymore.

First round DE or OLB plus getting Brown back from injury and we might be cooking next year. This year we got 3 (potentially 4) contributors on offense. We need a draft like that for defense.

Good decision. We don't know if Brooks will be a good RB in the league, so locking down the RB that has actually performed well despite the shitshow around him is a no brainer, and it's a reasonable contract too. If Brooks is the real deal then we have a 1-2 punch at RB again.
