There’s NO WAY IN HELL we’re beating Tampa Bay

And yet he will still be a better QB than PJ. -
Pass Interference Calls: For and Against?
Cdparr7 replied to AlphabetsEnd's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is pass interference on almost every pass play, it just how you hide it. Kind of like holding. I see more PIs under Rhule than I remember seeing with Rivera and Fox. Might just be that I’m paying more attention to it, but we have a much better secondary now. Would likely attribute that to coaching. Also, despite having DJ our receiving group is having issues getting separation this season. Kind of strange but wouldn’t put that past coaching either. -

Maybe til Darnold gets back, then he’s gonna be under the desk again. -
PJ is ass crack
-
Look at completion %. And I was wrong PJ had zero rushing TDs. Will also played the starters in one of the games. You have no argument.

Is this the guy who wanted him to start over Sam last year despite Will Grier out performing PJ the whole preseason.

Help! Please, my name is torturing me

You should keep it. Keep it as a reminder of what the fanbase endured and went through for almost 3 seasons, so when we tag the next head coach we will always remember it can be much worse. -

I don’t think it will be this week. Probably after the Rams game next week or Tampa week after. -
Graziano: "Lots of buzz" Panthers could fire Rhule
Cdparr7 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Only way he gets fired this week is if Sunday is an absolute bloodbath. I could see us losing this week and then getting slaughtered in LA next week and him being let go. It would also give the interim guy a home game to step into. -
It looks like some wing-T flexbone bull crap with the TEs being wing backs. That aside, has anyone noticed our splits on the OL? Rule of thumb is 3ft splits, or at least what I always was told to spread out gaps and assist with running lanes. We have mismatched splits across the whole OL there.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan on facing Panthers
Cdparr7 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
No we are looking at like a 19-6 or 13-3 type game. -
Dude I played the game. I was a lineman through high school and college and I never was taught to hit people in the balls. I was different offenses and the closest thing we ever got to that was in high school we ran the flex bone and my 80 year old position coach would tell us to fire off low and put a forearm 3” above the knee cap and drive. We never practiced nut punches between chutes, sleds, and mirror drills.
-
You can’t base your pass protection off of acting like you’re gonna hit dudes in the balls, this isn’t the longest yard.
-
Better?
-
Okay this is like 1970s high school veer option logic. Pass Protection in the NFL is kick slide typically. Which is Outside foot- out, inside foot-in to create a pocket. Guy goes inside, you kick slide up, guy goes outside kick slide out. Hands stay close to the breast plate and you punch until he engages. Now depending on your splits, you may have a more aggressive pass block, especially on RPO or play action. Your feet remain square and you attack similar to as you would on a zone run without going up field and firing on the backer. “cut blocking” is frowned upon in the NFL, so is hitting somebody in the balls. Baker’s issue is his height and release. He has shorter arms, and throws side armed fairly often. Our pass protection is better now, so rushers will mirror Baker and knock down the pass. QBs are coached to have a 6x6” release to what is called “zero” this is a 45 degree angle above an outside the shoulder to assist with accuracy and a higher release. Baker’s short arms, shorter height, and throwing motion is to blame. His elbow slot placement is off.
-
I mean this plus his height and arm length.
-
It’s called elbow slot drills. The goal is to get the elbow to 45 degrees above the shoulder 6” x 6” above the shoulder. It helps with release and accuracy. Not trying to be a know it all but this is high school stuff.
-
PJ Walker is 5’11” and doesn’t have that problem. Drew Brees and Russell Wilson didn’t/don’t have that problem. The issue is his throwing motion. He doesn’t get his elbow up high enough on his release and some of his passes come out damn near side armed. It also doesn’t help that the defenders stand there and mirror him to bat them down, they know they can because his release is so low.

Seems like something is brewing -
My money is on Reich or Allen. Matt isn’t going anywhere until we are eliminated and even then Tepper may keep him til January.
-
I can’t think of another franchise except maybe the Jaguars where Matt Rhule wouldn’t have been fired already. If this guy would have took the NYG job he wouldn’t have made it past year 1. Imagine if he was in Philly.
