  1. To me Rhule can help himself a lot by delegating responsibility. If he can do that and figure away to make make useful halftime adjustments, he may become a decent coach. Hopefully the situational football decisions will improve also with time and more experience. Fingers Crossed...
  2. Yep. I guess so. I'm counting my rotten eggs before they have a chance to hatch.
  3. Based on Tepper- Rhule doesn't have to make a playoff run. If Darnold starts and we struggle (1-4 or therebouts) and Corral comes in and progresses and we do better ( 5-7) our final record is 6-11 or so-- He claims progress and saves his job. Darnold is gone, Corral becomes the starter in 2023 (our draft spot probably won't result in one of the better QBs). Its a realistic scenario IMO.
  4. Darnold's contract makes it unlikely he is cut unless Macadoo deems him completely useless (which i know many of us would). He will probably start the season as QB#1. Corral will most likely get the chance to sit and watch and maybe learn "What not to do?"
  5. Maybe. I always thought Woods was more of an "in the box" safety too. I'm not convince Chinn won't remain the FS more often than not. That said, Woods is a pretty good option for this role too.
  6. I'm not sure our player changes will be enough to impact our run D too much even if Brown develops. I'd assume our scheme might need changing some. The Additions of Wilson and Smith at LB may help (If Wilson outlasts his legal troubles). So far this does seem to be something that not much has been done to offer improvement.
  7. Corral seems like a passionate kid. In his college RPO system the progressions were limited or short it seems. He only made a few reads and then was expected to get what he could with his legs (Something we could have used last year with our OL maybe). He made those reads pretty well and didn't force as many throws last year has he did the year before. His release is fast and his arm pretty good (not Willis or Strong, but better than Pickett or Zappe). He reminds me of a more-talented Taylor Heinecke. I like the way he moves in the pocket--he seems to have a lot better awareness than Sam. Hopefully he can develop and learn to process more reads and beef up his frame a bit.
  8. IMO It seems we have 1 Guard spot where there will be a lot of competition for the spot. (Icky LT- Corbett will play 1 G spot, Boze at C, and Tmo at RT). I'm not sure BC gets it, especially if we are going bigger and running more. Does Deonte get a shot? I think it will be interesting to see who gets that job.
  9. Just run left more. That's what teams did to us. Typically the best rushers are on the blindside and running the ball right at them slows down the pass rush at times.
  10. I have read a few draft reports on Mays. Opinions seem to vary. Some folks see him as "too stiff" and not agile enough to play in the NFL. Others say he's a great value at the spot we drafted him. The videos I reviewed had him playing a lot of RT, but we seem to see him as a G.. He looks like he fits the mold of Bigger linemen MacAdoo mentioned wanting.
  11. IMO it would be ok if Matt sits awhile. Darnold may play better b/c our line and position coaching should be better. Eventually Darnold will probably be exposed (injuries on the OL will do that) and Matt will get his chance. Sitting can be a good thing for QBs sometimes and IMO it could do Matt some good. He'll sit and learn the mental part and play book and get used to the speed of the game in practice before being tossed out there unprepared.
  12. Yeah Both are bad--especially if you are allergic to penicillin.
  13. That's an impossible task (unless Jaycee turns out out be a bust).
  14. I think we should. Coaching staff and desire for a QB or LB would be the only thing i could fathom.
  15. We just got Tremble last year and traded away Arnold. Considering we paid Ian Thomas to come back like he was a Middle Tier Starting TE, I doubt the team thinks we need a TE. That said, I'm not sold that we don't. I would not mind collecting someone to compete with those two.
  16. Yeah, but I'm sure a 4th round QB at 137 would work...If Howell, Corral or Strong drop...Why Not?
  17. I'm not sure if he'd trade down or not, if this scenario unfolds--Pick 13 is on the edge of the blue chip talent dip they talk about at the beginning of the 1st round. There could be some real top ten talent left that slipped to be snatched up....
  18. Eleby will most likley go undrafted (or very late). IMO It would not hurt to bring a guy like that (a developmental guy from somewhere other than Temple) in to run the PS Scout Team. PJ Walker IMO should be replaced. If he's not even considered a threat to Darnold's job security...Its not the kind of competition that makes people better.
  19. I am not excited by this possibility. If it is, in fact, what happens though- I too will be pulling for him (because I'm a Panthers fan). Maybe Tepper will spend some $ and call in some professionals to help Darnold...
  20. There were a lot of holes on this roster when Rhule took over for sure. But how many were actually improved.. OL---I'd say no (unless this year show dramatic improvement-it should) QB--- Nope WRs-- About the same (Maybe better if Robby plays better) TEs-- no real improvement yet IDL- about the same I think (debateable) Edge- Better rushers with Reddick---worse against the run--Reddick is gone so..hard to determine LB- No improvement really Safety- A little better CBs--About the same IMO (maybe Horn changes that if he stays healthy) I just don't see much improvement and I think the Win/Loss record the last few years supports my opinion. This year maybe some of the new pieces will help. I hope so.
  21. He mentioned its not all wins and losses. That he sees Progress under Rhule and that the team is putting foundations in place... What/Who do you think he's referringto ...?
  22. Tepper walks out and looks around- whispers to his wife and assistants....then walks to the podium and says... "Sorry..I..uh...we thought this press conference was about the Soccer Team"
