Before injury I would have been fine with him being our LT but we don’t know how long he will take to come back or how well he’ll be. I think his injury shouldn’t hurt his play but we will see. Hes versatile and always does a good job when he’s on the field but for some reason we never seem to want to make him a starter.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Samac ends up starting. Hes spent a year with us and it’s possible our staff feels like he can be a decent starter. We wouldn’t have let Mays go if we didn’t feel confident in replacing him. I feel we could also find some cheap vets or draft a center. Tackle is the bigger issue. We don’t know if Icky will even come back to be a starting level tackle. Moton is 31 and we need his replacement as well. Drafting a tackle in the first would be the best option. We also need some depth if one gets injured. Yijman is a great option and so is BC but we don’t know when he’ll be back

I don’t think we would spend that kind of money on a LB that can’t play all 3 downs. It said he played 331 coverage snaps last year and only gave up one TD so him not being a coverage LB seems kinda like BS?

FA Splash: Panthers sign Jaelan Phillips EDGE
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was specifically talking about them talking about the sacks. Still injuries happen in football. He was healthy all last year. so he could be fine. -
Are you talking about last year? Cause I thought last year he improved a lot in coverage. Heck how did he get 5 INTs if he wasn’t playing on passing downs?

FA Splash: Panthers sign Jaelan Phillips EDGE

It’s funny how ignorant nfl fans are. Claiming he is a bust because he doesn’t have a lot of sacks. Which shows they only read box scores and know nothing about qb pressures or how players can cover or affect the run game. -
It will be interesting to see if they give up on JJ or not. If they want to win now then I can see them getting a vet.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well the coaches would disagree. Bryce has shown improvement each year so there’s still hope. Next year will be the year I think for certain we will know if he’s the guy or not. He’s still only 24 and to give up ok a qb that early is just dumb. -
Why is no one here talking about Murray to the Vikings? I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett

Baker isn’t mid tier. lol. Geno played well. Mac Jones is looking like another possible starter. Malik Willis just got a big contract. He wasn’t a first but still he was considered a bust. Daniel Jones was a MVP candidate before the injury, Jared Goff was benched for a no name QB in the playoffs and out of the door. We will see what happens to Murray. Trevor Lawrence was looking like a bust and now that he has a new coach those talks have went away. -
BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Considering how many first round qb bust we’ve seen go to other teams and be good, I think we should be more open minded to this. Hes just a back up and I would argue an upgrade over Dalton. Who knows what he could do in a different system and a different team? -
Is he a good center though? He played guard for all his career except last year right? He’s 30 and coming off an injury and lost his job so maybe he will be cheap? while I do want us to get a center, I think it’s a position that you can easily find a no name back up and make a starter. There’s lots of teams that have had decent centers that came from no where or was UDFA or back ups on other teams. Maybe we will use one of our guys already on the roster?
-
Elgton Jenkins just released from packers. He was a guard who was switched over to center last year and then got hurt after 9 games. I wonder if he’s worth considering for a replacement?
-
Us losing Icky was bad but if we draft a tackle in this draft it could really help us out in the future. Moton isn’t getting any younger and has had injury problems himself. If Icky does come back and is able to play at the same level then we will have a way to replace Moton and send one of the tackles to the right side. another scenario is if Icky does come back and he can’t play even close to the same he was before and we end up having to let him go then we would really be in a bad situation with the tackle position if we didn’t draft one. Moton could be retiring or age catch up to him and icky being done with no talent to replace them would be a major loss to our offensive line.

Thank you so much for posting links to the players so I don’t have to copy and paste the name and look it up.

Adam Schefter: Panthers getting trade calls for Andy Dalton
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would love to trade Andy and get a younger back up to develop that might have a chance at surprising us. -
Missed 18 games in past 4 years. Bottom 5 center last year according to pff but it’s possible it’s also because of those around him and injuries? I just feel like center is a position we could possibly fill with a no name. How many times have we seen a center come from no where and be a decent starter? It’s possible.

2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk
rmoneyg35 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
What’s the cap looking like? Cause all these guys look like they can be resigned for cheap. -
So are we going to give him a big contract now? Honestly I wouldn’t. We could let him go and just sign a LT in FA for the same amount of money or draft a LT. I’m fine with BC or Nijman at LT next year honestly. With chances of the player making a full recovery or even being close to the same player as before being low, I honestly am fine with letting him go. Maybe take a 1 year deal next year for the cheap to see if he still has it. i know it may sound mean but it’s not a charity. We can’t win if we are giving big contracts to players who can’t play. He’s already a multi millionaire so not like he needs the money.
-
I like the guy but sorry, what team is going to sign him and give him more carries than what he probably would have here? If Chuba gets hurt then he’s getting those reps. Personally I think Etienne will be a solid back up for us who could end up being a starter. He’s a solid player all around. We still have Brooks too who still has a chance of being a good Rb despite injuries. We’ve seen players come back from worse. The odds might be low but there’s still a chance. If our offensive line is good then having a good RB isn’t a big deal. Honestly I would just use the money on another position. I’m fine with Chuba, Etienne and brooks. We can always draft a rb in later rounds or UDFA. It’s an easy position to fill.

I’m not sure people understand how fuging bad it is
rmoneyg35 replied to TylerDurden's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem with replacing Bryce Young is we have to have a QB to replace him with. Dalton isn’t that guy. We have no other young QB on the roster we have been grooming to be a possibility. so the only options we have are free agency, draft or trade. So we are stuck with Bryce until the end of the year. Problem is we still aren’t guaranteed to find a replacement. The draft is a crapshoot and I don’t see any free agent QBs that look to be much of an upgrade. we could trade for someone’s back up but I don’t think a lot of teams would want to give up their back up. Then there’s the cost, would you want to give up a 2nd-3rd round pick for a back up QB? Honestly I see us getting some other teams scraps and trying to make something out of it. Yes it’s worked before, for example Jake Delhomme, then we seen currently with Baker and Darnold. Geno Smith is a player I think could be an option. He will have one year left on his contract after this season which should be easy to get out of or for raiders to release him. Hes worked with Canales and knows his offense. Hes an upgrade over Dalton for sure and Bryce but he’s also capable of a lot of turnovers. The raiders offensive line is horrible right now so I feel like he isn’t nearly as bad as his stats show. At the end of the day he’s just a band aid to a bigger problem we need to fix. -
ESPN’s Benjamin Solak on Panthers LT
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I’ve seen it. It scares me cause I hate investing a lot of money in a player. Too many variables, from injuries to them getting the bag and not caring anymore. -
I disagree but we will see. His brother is a good nfl RB, it’s in his dna. He played for a loaded Georgia team so his stats aren’t great but that’s because he shared snaps with other good RBs. Georgia has produced a lot of great RBs. Look at his scouting report, basically says while he doesn’t excel at any specific thing, he’s good at everything. Put him behind our offensive line and he should be able to produce.

ESPN’s Benjamin Solak on Panthers LT
rmoneyg35 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was always worried cause his strength was being a run blocker which isn’t what you want in your LT. I don’t think he’s the best LT at pass blocking but I think he’s good now. I just wonder if he’s worth paying top LT money? -
Honestly I think Etienne is going to be our future Rb. Hes good at everything and has little wear and tear. Brooks is not only basically a rookie but also hasn’t played in 2 years which requires him to get into shape. I think there’s hope for him but the odds are low.
