Bryce is on a better pace than Alex Smith was. If I remember correctly, Smith was the QB everyone was frustrated with until that 13-3 season. That was his Jay-Z year 7 if I'm correct. Just saying.

Moton signed an extension this season. He's not going anywhere.

BC is nearly 30. After and Achilles tear, I'd draft a LT in the 1st - 2nd round, rather than depend on BC. However, I would resign both Yosh and BC for depth

The guys in green, I keep. Yosh Nijman was quietly very solid for us. Coker goes without saying. I think Cade get's mid starting Center 3 year extension. Everyone else in green has a role, but shouldn't break the bank. The guys in blue I would like to have back, but at team friendly deals that won't kill us if we cut them. We could do worse than having BC and AC as depth linemen. After Ickey's injury we need a young tackle. I will take AC, Curhan, and BC (health dependent) as interior back-ups. In 2027 we draft for depth. I'm not sure how the contracts for Wonnom and Jones Jr. are structured, but I could see DJW back on a much lower contract. If Ickey has a torn ACL like I've heard, we are drafting a LT in the first round no questions asked. I think if we spend a little money on a high caliber LB or draft a solid player in the 2nd or 3rd round Wallace, Cherelus, and Roseboom all have a role as depth pieces. I think it's safe to say that they have made chicken salad out of chicken poo. Bryce isn't a 50M per year QB. If we make him one, that is GM malpractice and will get someone fired. Bryce can operate around the Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield salary and have a solid team built around him. He has gotten better, but our offensive issues have been mostly due to predictability, prudence, and a lack of separation from pass catchers. I wouldn't shy away from drafting Drew Allar, John Mateer, or Garrett Nussmeier after round 3 to create competition and groom as a back-up. If he plays hardball come extension time, move on. The team has gotten better, created a distinct culture, and has much more depth than they had two years ago. Those are huge W's in regard to righting the path of the franchise. Morgan is it at GM/President I see him getting better as the years go on like Brandon Beane. The XL pick has been the biggest Morgan miss. Who knows, XL may be salvageable, but we still need a solid #2 receiver and one more reliable TE. Sign experienced LB's, draft a back up G and T, work on finding play-makers and we will see improvement. Our schedule is ROUGH next year. 9-8 would be huge!!!! We have the AFC north and NFC north plus Seattle and Denver. The hill I am willing to die on is that Canales's future will be predicated upon him giving up play calling. He is too young of a coach with an inexperienced staff to rely on being the play caller. Izdik needs to earn his paycheck and call the plays so Dave can be the head coach. DC, IMO, could be a great CEO coach. If he is all about development, he needs to develop staff as well. He needs to better assess the entire team and game situations without being hampered by the nuances of play calling. I think EE is gone at year's end. Evero has hit his ceiling in Carolina. I'd love to see Raheem Morris step in and put the screws to the Falcons for the next few years. He ran a similar, yet more aggressive system with the Rams so scheme and personnel would not be a huge issue. It'll be a hot minute before he is considered for another HC gig. Carolina could be the best opportunity outside of Cleveland to build a high level defense. (I omitted NYG because they are just like our team was in year 1 or 2 of the "rebuild" Rhule years) I'm pessimistic about our play-off game, but still excited. However, I am more excited about the off season and how we will build on the success of this past season.

The Bryce hate is nearly laughable. He looked like garbage the first two games, but has really, really shown improvement and growth. People who know football are taking notice. Will Bryce ever be Arron Rodgers, Farvre, Manning or any other hotshot gunslinger? No, but I think he is a smart football player who has survived a lot more than most other QB's would have after 2.5 years. So long as this injury doesn't linger I think you will see legitimate growth over the next two years, with a big leap coming next season. Reich and Brown not working together, Duce causing trouble behind the scenes. Starting WR's of Mingo and Chark. No legitimate scheme for the OL. Fitterer's general incompetence. An owner who was desperate for attention. How did Zac Wilson, Mariota, Winston, Tribuski, Rosen, Lawarence, Fields, Jones, Pickett, and Richardson fair after 2.5 years? We see what happens when the Texans have not given Stroud the support. The 2018 draft had great talent, they just needed to mature, hell we wasted two of the top three drafted that year. Outside of Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, or Drake Maye, I'm not sure I really would want any other 1st round QB drafted in the past 10 years? RELAX...... Bryce is our guy as we grow as a team. The only other option I currently see is maybe a buy low draft pick on Drew Allar if he falls to the third round or lower. Bryce is going to be extended. He won't get Prescott money which would benefit our team going forward. A mid range extension like Darnold or Baker got may be just the thing this team needs to keep growing.

Trading a 6th or someone like Crumley for Howell would be a solid move. I really think we may sign an emergency QB like Kyle Trask. Not that he is special or anything, but he knows the offense. I'd feel better with him than Hooker.

We need to make this and the black helmet be our primary from now on..... Make it happen in 2026

Looking at the TE situation, does Sanders get on the field if he can't block to the level of TT and ME? I am 100% on board with Sanders getting Wally Pipped on this one. We have plenty of WR's, I don't see what huge advantage he gives us over TT or ME, or even James Mitchel at this point. Canales said when he was hired that the TE was a huge part of his offense. The blocking displayed by the TE room Sunday was exactly what he meant. I also think the WR rotation ends up being.... TMAC, Coaker, Brycen, XL, Horn, Renfrow. XL needs to learn to run routes, block his ass off, and be dependable if he wants to get opportunities going forward. He's about to lose the Trust of BY. Looking at the top 3 Wr's, I easily see JHJr passing him on the depth chart. My money is on Renfrow being inactive most games going forward.

Corbett is the back up G/C at this point. I'm pretty sure he understands that and would be ok with it.

At the quarter point of year two under Canales I think it is obvious that certain changes are necessary: Dave needs to give up play calling. His scripted plays work out well, he can still contribute those weekly, but he needs to let the OC be the OC. Canales' job is to be the CEO. You can't trot out a team that is unprepared on 3 levels, on a consistent basis, and not claim you are fully focused on the "main thing". As Cam says, "Let the main thing be the main thing" There needs to be a serious conversation between Morgan and Evero. The lack of pass rush and ILB play are putrid. There is solid DL play and DB play. Fix at least one issue via trade or scheme. My thoughts are that EE is so pissed about the personnel that he is refusing to adapt his system to what we have. That's a friable offense in my opinion. Bryce is on the clock. If DC gives up his play calling and the OC can't make BY fit the scheme, we need to bring in competition via the draft or free agency. Dalton isn't competition. I wouldn't necessarily go for a high first round pick at QB, but I wouldn't throw out the possibility of a late first round trade up or 2nd round pick on a QB who fits the mold of what we want to do. Evero is gone at the end of the season, if not before. You need to bring in a hard ass DC. We need a guy who is all about accountability and will not take poo from anyone. We really need to look at our athletic training staff. This is year three of starting the season with significant injuries. Last year it was on defense. This year it is on offense. I'm not sure if it is a curse or poor preparation. I really think it goes back to training camp, ex.. joint practices with the Texans. With Dave signed to a six year contract I don't see this being a make it or bust year, but if there is significant regression from last year, year three will make it or break it for him too.

There is soooooo much bad that it is hard to see the good. This game is the picture of an unprepared team. Rushing all plays until the last second of the snap. Stupid penalties. Poor LB play. Hopefully they wake up, inside BOA and the players on the field. I have seen some good flashes, but the bad has been really bad. TMAC, Horn, the running game (when we don't run the same plays back to back). The absolute lack of pass rush against a terrible OL, poor gap integrity, starting Yosh over BC, predictable play calls, and stupid penalties make the flashes forgettable. Luckily, at the end of this game we will still only be one game out of first in the division.

Our MLB's can't play. Additionally, glad we are keeping one of our true NT's inactive. This defense is AWFUL. I'd fire Evero before he gets on the bus. Literally could not make the defense worse. They want to preach accountability. Starts with him

He should have run on that play....Let's not make it a bigger deal than it is. XL got out muscled by a much smaller guy on his route. Maybe if we played our starters a legitimate amount during the preseason we wouldn't start out so cold.

GREAT LIST!!!!! I'd look to add both Davis and Muma at ILB. One is a WILL ILB and the other is a SAM ILB. Clear upgrades over Bam and Cherelus Mukuamu would be a great addition at safety. I'd drop Scott for him and start one of Richardson or Ransom I'd give Fadil Diggs a look over DJJ any day of the week. DJJ is not long for the roster once Nic is 100% Outside of the guys I mentioned and a CB to be named later I really don't see too much shuffling from what we have on our 53. I think we need to get creative with our PS. Luckily we are healthy and can take some time to develop players if we retain a few of our own. I think Kingston and Tarquin will be back at OL for us. Sam Roberts, Mike Reid, and Bartholomew for sure on defense. I'd assume Wright will stick on the PS until our rookie kicker proves himself. Sam Franklin would be a perfect PS signing. I'd love to pick up Kyle McCord or Trask as a PS QB. One player to keep an eye on is Jalen Brooks from the Cowboys. He's from the area and is talented. Lots of options. PS players can play 4 games before having to sign on for the rest of the year!!!

It's not happening. We need all hands on deck to start the year. Ya'all are caught up in hype from the Vikings who think they are going to better than the third place team in their division. Let's go 4 deep all week with Tmac, XL, AT, and Coaker. HR and JHJ are great depth pieces for when someone gets injured. One of our DB's will have to play a little more special teams. Nick Scott, earn a paycheck. We need to focus on ILB and DB health. No OL trades unless it is an upgrade. Fill the PS out with developmental players and veterans to fill in for 4 game stretches.

I think a lot of the poor game performance was mostly in part to DC and EE not calling plays. There are no public cameras at the joint practices. Those results, at this juncture, are more telling that poorly called vanilla playbooks. If we break 3-2 or better in our first 5 games, we set ourselves up nicely for significant improvement. We could be 7-7 heading into week 16. Games against the (H/A) Bucs and (H) Seahawks could make or break us. If that doesn't make for good TV I don't know what does. Two of 3 at the Bank.

You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season. He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season. That's what you get from AT. ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch. He is steady. At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams. Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league. Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family. You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad. You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... It's 8 million over 4 years.... I'd bend a knee... there are much worse FA contracts being handed out. Gives teams more incentive to draft well. The Browns and Texans basically screwed the rest of the league. Someone may want to tell that commie Jimmy Haslam to stop with all this guaranteed money. If he keeps this up the NFL is going to be screwed.

I really don't think Caleb Williams is that guy. He doesn't strike me as a leader, but to be fair, Bryce didn't come off that way at first. However, the DNA of each player couldn't be more different. I see Williams caring much more about how he looks rather than how he plays. Bryce, to me, looks more like a teammate and culture builder. Caleb has a MUCH better surrounding cast than BY and it isn't even close. If Williams isn't the reason the Bears win more games, Panthers win. Bryce is on the come up and there is no debate.
